JOB DESCRIPTION: The basic function of the Accounts Receivable (AR) Staff Accountant is to manage the AR process and directly work with the AR Manager to assist with general ledger transactions, draws, loan schedules, and any other assigned task.
Duties
Assist with the administration and tracking of accounts receivable
Prepare monthly transactions to the general ledger
Prepare and record new land, land development, and vertical construction loans
Prepare and record draw requests to lenders and capital partners
Prepare and record loan extensions
Record interest on loans
Reconcile monthly and daily AR activity and loan accounts
Maintain AR loan and draw subledgers
Other special projects as necessary and as directed by the AR Manager
Experience
Ability to implement process improvement strategies
Good judgement, decision making and forward thinking
Must be efficient, detail oriented and a quick learner
Ability to multitask
Strong interpersonal skills and professional demeanor, ability to work as a team
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
Experience in lender relations a plus
Newstar accounting software experience a plus
