Acquisitions Specialist

Job Description

SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Acquisition Manager, the Acquisitions Specialist will be responsible for assisting in sourcing and growing donations to benefit all ReStores either through pick-ups services or direct-to-store drop-off donations. This position will develop strong relationships with donors and potential donors, with the goal of providing the best experience for our donors and establishing regular, repeat donors.

This is a Full Time, Hourly Non-Exempt position requiring flexibility to work evening and weekend hours as needed.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Develop donation leads through cold calls, trade shows, marketing, networking, and any other opportunities available
  • Inspect, evaluate, and assess potential donations to determine if donations are of value to the ReStores
  • Supervise and direct Donations Ambassadors on donations sites to ensure that:
    • Donor has a positive experience with Habitat for Humanity
    • Trucks are loaded efficiently and safely
    • No damage to donation site (commercial property, home, etc)
    • Promote the mission, vision, and values of HFHWC and be able to communicate our mission and purpose to volunteers, donors, and customers.

    Education And Experience

    • Sales experience required
    • Excellent communication skills with a strong passion for the organization’s mission;
    • Ability to manage a team
    • Self-starter with the ability to work both independently and with staff and volunteers


    PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the

    employee is regularly required to be on their feet for long periods of time. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, carry, as well as pulling and reaching to move items onto trucks and into stores. Position requires the ability to frequently lift products/supplies, up to 50 lbs.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT:

    The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to be on their feet for long periods of time and/or operating a truck.

    Constant driving from pick up locations to drop off locations is required and outside conditions that can include heat, humidity, and high noise levels. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, carry, as well as pulling and reaching to move items onto trucks and into stores. Position requires the ability to frequently lift products/supplies, up to 150 lbs.

    Supervisory Responsibilities

    No direct reports, but responsible for individuals working on donation sites.
