Adjunct Faculty - Aeronautics Program Instructor

We are seeking enthusiastic and knowledgeable adjunct faculty members for our Aeronautics program. As part of our adjunct pool, your application will be considered for current or future teaching assignments in our aviation-related courses. Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging instruction based on established curriculum and course outlines, tailored to a combination of lecture and lab classes.
  • Support students by being accessible outside of class for academic assistance.
  • Foster an inclusive and dynamic learning environment that promotes open dialogue and encourages the exchange of ideas.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed student records, including grades and attendance.
  • Stay current in your field of expertise to provide the highest quality instruction.
  • Uphold professional conduct and ethical standards at all times.

Qualifications

To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following minimum qualifications:

Education

  • A Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of professional experience related to aeronautics; or
  • An Associate degree and six (6) years of professional experience related to aeronautics; or
  • The equivalent combination of education and experience.

Licenses/Certificates

  • Valid FAA Certified Flight or Ground Instructor Certificate (for FAA Part-131 Pilot School courses), or
  • Valid FAA Remote Pilot Certificate (for FAA Remote Pilot courses).
  • Demonstrated cultural competency and an ability to work effectively with students from diverse academic, socioeconomic, and ethnic backgrounds.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in teaching aviation-related subjects.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Commitment to supporting the success of all students.

Additional Information

  • Part-time faculty positions may involve teaching day, evening, weekend, and/or off-campus classes.
  • Applicants should reside within commuting distance of the campus location.

Application Process

Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis, and candidates who meet the qualifications will remain in our adjunct pool for up to one year. Should a suitable teaching opportunity arise, the hiring department will contact qualified applicants directly. Please note that applications are purged annually, and you will need to reapply if you wish to remain in the pool.

Conditions Of Employment

Selected candidates will be required to:

  • Submit official college transcripts and any required foreign degree evaluations.
  • Provide a Certificate of Tuberculosis Exam (renewed every 4 years).
  • Undergo a Live Scan background check (paid by the district).
