Responsibilities
PRIMARY FUNCTION:
To develop and/or teach designated graduate course(s) within the guidelines and policies of the University and Graduate College. Specific course(s) and responsibilities are outlined in the Letter of Agreement between the instructor and the Graduate College.

EDUCATIONAL/TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:
Jefferson includes Thomas Jefferson University and Jefferson Health, a dynamic university and health system with broad reach across the Delaware Valley. Jefferson is the second largest employer in Philadelphia and the largest health system in Philadelphia based on total licensed beds.
Through the merger of Thomas Jefferson University and Philadelphia University in 2017, our University includes ten colleges and four schools. We are an NCAA Division II university and an R2 national doctoral university offering undergraduate and graduate-level programs that provide students with a forward-thinking education in architecture, business, design, engineering, fashion and textiles, health, medicine and social science.
Jefferson Health, the clinical arm of Thomas Jefferson University, has grown from a three-hospital academic health center in 2015, to an 18-hospital health system through mergers and combinations that include hospitals at Abington Health, Aria Health, Kennedy Health, Magee Rehabilitation and Einstein Healthcare Network. We have over 50 outpatient and urgent care centers; ten Magnet®-designated hospitals (recognized by the ANCC for nursing excellence); the NCI-designated Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center (one of only 70 in the country and one of only two in the region); and one of the largest faculty-based telehealth networks in the country. In 2021, Jefferson Health became the sole owner of HealthPartners Plan, a not-for-profit health maintenance organization in Southeastern Pennsylvania. We are the first health system regionally to create an aligned payer-provider partnership.

PRIMARY FUNCTION:
To develop and/or teach designated graduate course(s) within the guidelines and policies of the University and Graduate College. Specific course(s) and responsibilities are outlined in the Letter of Agreement between the instructor and the Graduate College.
Essential Functions
- Teach designated graduate course(s) during indicated semester(s).
- Work in collaboration with College staff and faculty to develop and/or review course and assessment materials, including laboratory sections if applicable.
- Produce a course syllabus which should include the course objectives, outline of course content, testing dates, course requirements for final grade determination, required or recommended resource texts, etc.
- Provide the Graduate College with information needed to order the course textbook(s).
- Provide the Graduate College with materials for copying or printing at least one week prior to the course or class start date.
- Provide a final course grade for each student by the specified date according to the Graduate College’s grade scale.
- Participate in the course evaluation process.
- Provide guidance and supervision for teaching/laboratory assistants if applicable.
- For course(s) with a laboratory component:
- Provide the Graduate College with a list of equipment and supplies needed for each session at least one month prior to the course or class start date.
- Provide students with a laboratory manual including explanations of techniques and materials to be used.
- Instruct the preparator prior to setting up the laboratory sessions.
- Maintain office hours for academic support.
- Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the core values of the University.
EDUCATIONAL/TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:
- Master’s or Doctoral (preferred) degree in related science-field from an accredited college or university
- 2 years teaching experience in related course work
- Experience preparing and administering lectures and exams via online course management software (e.g. Blackboard).
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
