POSITION SUMMARY:
The part-time adjunct position in CORE Curriculum provides a great opportunity to enhance one’s academic, scholarly and creative abilities. The selected candidate should be able to teach a full range of courses with one or more specialty areas such in the foundations of humanities, math, science, and social science.
The CORE Curriculum provides a pedagogical framework for students to develop their skills in becoming competent, resourceful, global leaders. The curriculum explicitly teaches critical thinking in the humanities and social and natural sciences. The curriculum reinforces respect for diverse viewpoints and ethical values in the academy. Students develop effective problem solving skills for addressing real world problems, and intellectual humility through service learning. Students engage in quantitative and qualitative research in the natural sciences, social sciences and humanities as they understand the complexities of the human condition.
The Goals Of The CORE Curriculum Are To
Primary responsibilities include teaching a two classes (2 hours) per semester within the CORE Curriculum to undergraduate students. Must be able to teach face-to-face on campus at Fisk University.
QUALIFICATIONS:
A Master’s degree in Business Administration or relevant discipline with experience in teaching a variety of courses in subdisciplines of Business.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The employee may regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT

- Foster and enhance skills, knowledge, awareness, and dispositions that lead to the development of competent, resourceful, and imaginative leaders;
- Encourage understanding of the social world and natural environment and their relationships to communities
- Encourage exposure to various creative experiences.
Primary responsibilities include teaching a two classes (2 hours) per semester within the CORE Curriculum to undergraduate students. Must be able to teach face-to-face on campus at Fisk University.
- Prepares and delivers learning activities in order to achieve course outcomes
- Prepares course materials such as syllabi, homework assignments and handouts
- Evaluates and grades students' class work, assignments, papers, and examinations
- Maintains and submits student attendance records, grades and other required documentation by specified deadlines
- Be attentive to responding to students emails within a 24 hour time frame
- Periodic meetings with supervisor or Chair of the department
QUALIFICATIONS:
A Master’s degree in Business Administration or relevant discipline with experience in teaching a variety of courses in subdisciplines of Business.
Experience
- A minimum of 3 years successful teaching in the field of Business
- Proven ability to cultivate professional relationships with local, state and federal businesses
