Admissions Coach (Executive Admissions Coach)

Are you passionate about helping others achieve their educational goals and thrive in a dynamic, supportive team environment? We are seeking an enthusiastic Executive Admissions Coach (EAC) to join our remote team at American Public University Systems.

In this role, you will engage with prospective students, understand their objectives, and provide solutions to help them reach their goals.

As an EAC, you will predominantly focus on outreach to prospective students who’ve expressed interest in the university via online submissions, forms, or chat.

You will guide them through the enrollment process from initial interest to matriculation, including assisting with required documents, transfer credit awards, degree plan navigation, and payment options.

While a sales mindset and the ability to convert leads are essential, the true value of this role lies in making a meaningful impact on students' lives and supporting them in their educational journey.

Responsibilities

  • Act as prospective students' first point of contact, building positive and empathetic connections.
  • Engage prospective students via phone and email, highlighting APU’s benefits and guiding them toward enrollment.
  • Relate to and support students from diverse backgrounds, ensuring they feel understood and valued.
  • Conduct consultative conversations to understand students' needs and showcase how APU can help achieve their educational goals.
  • Present tailored solutions based on student needs and facilitate seamless enrollment into the University.
  • Meet and exceed enrollment targets through effective student engagement and support.
  • Guide students by connecting them to the proper departments for documentation, registration, funding, and degree solutions.
  • Maintain proactive follow-ups with prospective students, providing timely updates and encouragement.
  • Ensure compliance and protect student privacy by adhering to federal student privacy laws (FERPA).
  • Evaluate academic records and documents to ensure prospective students meet admission criteria.
  • Update and manage student information in Salesforce CRM systems accurately.
  • Collaborate with Financial Aid, Academic Advising, the Registrar, and other departments to effectively support student needs.


This role is not commission-based.

Per the US Department of Education Program Integrity Rules, postsecondary institutions participating in student financial assistance programs pursuant to Title IV of the Higher Education Act (HEA) are barred from providing incentive payments to any person or entity engaged in student recruiting and/or admissions activities.

Schedule, Workspace, & Start Date

Training for this position begins August 19, 2024.

  • Status: Full-time, hourly, non-exempt
  • Location: Remote
  • Technology: requires a high-speed Internet home connection and a dedicated workspace.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree (required)
  • 5 years of online admissions experience (required)
  • Salesforce CRM experience (preferred)
  • Proven experience working with adult students in a sales-oriented and consultative role, with a successful track record of meeting or exceeding metrics.
  • Self-driven and intrinsically motivated, comfortable making multiple outbound calls daily to generate interest, qualify students, and drive the enrollment process.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities with a robust phone presence, essential for engaging and connecting with prospective students.
  • Passion and enthusiasm: A genuine passion for helping and empowering others to succeed, reflecting a supportive and positive attitude.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and achieve individual goals within a collaborative team environment.
