Position Highlights

The University of Arizona College of Health Sciences (COHS) is excited to welcome applicants for the role of Admissions Counselor. This role's primary purpose is to assist with student recruitment and admissions processes for COHS existing and developing graduate and professional programs. COHS programs include Physical Therapy, Physician Assistant, Clinical Translational Sciences, Genetic Counseling and a developing international medical education program. Reporting to and working collaboratively with the Assistant Dean for Admissions, the Admissions Counselor will support and guide prospective future students from initial contact to their transition into the COHS degree programs.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with COHS program faculty and staff to oversee all aspects of student recruitment and selection processes.
  • Work with COHS faculty and staff to actively engage them in the recruitment process.
  • Represent the COHS at relevant recruitment functions and events – some of which may be evenings or weekends and at times outside of the State of Arizona.
  • Maintain a solid knowledge of COHS graduate and professional programs and University of Arizona graduate admissions processes to assist and advise prospective students.
  • Identify and plan outreach strategies and events for prospective students.
  • Regularly seek out new and unique opportunities for prospective student interaction and engagement.
  • Utilize administrative and other software tools to manage ongoing communications with prospective students.
  • Use Slate CRM to maintain accurate student records from prospect to matriculant.
  • Collaborate with the Assistant Dean to develop and implement email, print, and digital communication and marketing strategies for programs and initiatives.
  • Respond to student inquiries in a professional and timely manner via email, phone, webinar, or in-person.
  • Assist COHS program admissions committees as needed.
  • Update and manage applications in relevant systems such as GradApp or Centralized Application Services (CAS).
  • Assist in evaluating applications to ensure eligibility requirements. May advise applications of missing requirements and pathways for completion.
  • Manage and coordinate candidate interviews.
  • Plan, execute, and evaluate prospective student outreach and recruitment events on- and off-campus.
  • Generate reports using a variety of tools.
  • Update enrollment-related content to ensure accuracy of information provided on the website, marketing materials and any other platforms available to prospective students.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to organize and track multiple tasks, people, and projects.
  • Familiarity with different types of software platforms.
  • Excellent customer service skills.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through professional level experience required.
  • Three (3) years of relevant work experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Ability to drive according to the University Fleet Safety Policy.
