Position Summary

Admissions Reader & Interviewer

Overview

Fuqua Admissions Contract Readers/Interviewers participate in a team effort to evaluate and select students for the Fuqua School of Business Programs including the Accelerated MBA, Executive MBA, Masters of Management Studies (MMS), Masters of Quantitative Management (MQM), and Daytime MBA programs. This position must be staffed in North Carolina, and Readers/Interviewers will report to the program lead of the Daytime MBA Program or the One Year Masters Programs. This is a seasonal position working an abbreviated schedule from September through May, with optional projects available June through August. Contract admissions readers/interviewers will average 10 hours per work week, and during peak application submission time, readers may work up to 40 hours per week. Hours are flexible and work is completed offsite. Contract Readers/Interviewers will conduct interviews for the Executive MBA Programs and/or the One Year Masters Programs during the admissions cycle. The Admissions Reader/Interviewer is a member of the Fuqua admissions committee, and is required to sign a confidentiality agreement in accordance with Duke University Policy. At the discretion and invitation of the Dean, a contract Admissions Reader may be invited to renew the contract for the next admission cycle.

Responsibilities Include

  • Interviewing Executive MBA candidates and/or One Year Specialty Master’s program candidates.
  • Reading and evaluating qualifications of prospective students utilizing established standards and guidelines.
  • Submitting evaluations for review by the Admissions Committee.
  • Attending regular Admissions Committee meetings and trainings.
  • Participating and giving feedback on Admissions Committee decisions.
  • Help with admitted student outreach, such as welcome calls.
  • Perform other duties related to the admissions process as needed.

Skills And Qualifications

  • Bachelors’ degree required.
  • Prior admissions or industry experience preferred.
  • Must be staffed in North Carolina and have a North Carolina address.
  • Outstanding time management, analytic, and interpersonal skills.
  • Comfort working with software programs, application or customer relationship management systems, and learning/onboarding in a virtual setting.

Minimum Qualifications

Education

Work requires analytical, communications and organizational skills generally acquired through completion of a bachelor's degree program.

Experience

An equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
