About The Role

Working at Jacky Winter is a unique experience which requires an equally unique and dedicated individual. Each day presents new opportunities to work with some of the most forward-thinking creatives, businesses, and brands; acting as one of the driving forces in the creative process, bringing to life ideas and stories of all shapes and sizes.

This is primarily a production-forward position which requires relevant interest and experience, ideally from the advertising or creative industries. While we are responsible for a lot of creative work, and deeply value the inherent creative nature of being producers, the nature of the role is also relationship-driven, administrative and incorporates elements of sales and fostering new business development.

Due to potential conflicts of interest, this position is not suitable for anyone with an active or emerging freelance illustration practice. However anyone looking to further a career in commercial creative management is welcome to apply.

Duties

As an agent, you will act as the ambassador of the agency, identifying and capitalising on new business opportunities, and growing and strengthening our existing client base in North America.

Your role involves maintaining an in-depth knowledge of both the current and future state of the industry, combined with a thorough understanding of the capabilities of our agency, represented talent, and industry partners. You'll be responsible for managing our bespoke CRM system and nurturing ongoing client and artist relationships.

In addition to daily production responsibilities, you'll identify opportunities to connect with new clients. Regular agency presentations, attendance at industry events and artist catch-ups will be integral in ensuring that you are up to date with both the needs of the artists on the roster, and the individuals commissioning the work.

As a producer, you will be a warm and friendly presence on the phone, over email, and in person. Your professional tone, combined with a sense of humour and passion for the creative industries will make you a valued partner to our clients, vendors and represented talent. Your working environment will see you alternate between phone, Slack, and email communication, getting out of the office to take new briefs, develop and nurture client and artist relationships, and being on-site for the execution of said briefs when required.

Your primary responsibilities will include the finding, making, and synthesising of new creative briefs. With work ranging from quick-turnaround editorial commissions and above-the-line advertising campaigns, to live murals and animated GIFs for social media, no two days at Jacky Winter are alike.

Each new brief will see you prepare treatments or pitch documents, estimates, and proposals, then negotiate fees, usage rights, contracts, deliverables, and timelines with all stakeholders. Troubleshooting and problem-solving issues as they arise, you will act as a translator between artist and client. The pace of things will be fast, and you will need to be highly adaptable and efficient in your communication and organisation systems, with a specific focus on time management and multitasking, always striving for a positive outcome regardless of the circumstances.

Requirements

Whether you have existing agenting or production experience in the creative industry, or you are looking to expand your established skills in studio administration, arts management or account management, we welcome applications from qualified applicants with at least three years of relevant experience within the creative industry.

You will thrive on the challenge and energy of balancing anywhere from 20 –30 projects or enquiries at a time, quickly adapting to our internal digital tools to ensure that logistical and creative expectations are being met on both sides of the creative equation.

You should naturally be a positive person with a healthy sense of curiosity for people, ideas, and the world around you. You will be comfortable talking to people in a variety of roles and be a positive force in the office, always keeping your cool, even when encountering difficult situations.

General skills required:

  • Experience managing multiple projects or tasks; demonstrated ability to prioritise and traffic multiple tasks as needed.
  • Basic knowledge and appreciation for our current represented artists.
  • Solid decision-making ability and strong attention to detail.
  • Excellence in communication, listening and presentation skills.
  • Excellence in time management.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Basic foundation and competency in the Adobe Creative Suite (Bridge, Acrobat, Illustrator, Indesign, Photoshop), and the ability and interest to continue developing skills and expertise on the platform.
  • Knowledge or experience with Animation or 3D workflows are beneficial, but not required.

Mandatories:

  • 3+ years experience in an agenting, arts management, production, project management or account management-focused role in the advertising or commercial creative industries.
  • Legal status to work in North America.
  • Proficiency in the MacOS and iOS operating system and an ability to adapt to new software and web apps.
  • A demonstrated and active passion for visual art and/or the strange and wonderful world of advertising.
  • Cool as a cucumber!

Culture & Benefits

In addition to an annual salary which will be determined by experience, we also offer full health and dental benefits and an optional 401k program. Other benefits include flexible working arrangements, regular training and professional development, opportunities for local and international travel, and more. Company laptop and tech stack will be provided.

The largest benefit however is being part of a truly supportive team. While we work primarily with the advertising and design industries, we don't work *inside* them as such, and ensuring all staff can sustain a healthy work/life balance is of paramount importance. As a relatively small and close-knit team, we place enormous value on creating a sustainable, inclusive, and friendly culture which revolves around our core values of kindness and creativity.

We also regularly seek opportunities to donate our time and services to support socially progressive clients and causes and support all staff to do the same.

This role will see you grow your career in new and unexpected ways, witnessing original artwork blossom from a two-line email to a campaign blanketing the city, all while working alongside some of the most inspiring talents across the globe, sleeping soundly each night knowing that you were a part of making the world a better-looking place, and helping artists and creative people sustain their career so they can continue to do what they do best.
