AML Strategy Analyst
This position will work in a high paced environment supporting the bank’s ever-changing data, reporting and analytical needs to help mitigate money laundering risks. The Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Strategy Analyst will be expected to develop a solid understanding of the existing risk management and detection systems, the underlying data and workflow associated with those systems, the problems and limitations associated with both, and the available methods of resolving the identified business issues and maximizing efficiency. Utilizing a variety of techniques ranging from data mining to complex statistical analysis, this position will assist in tuning and optimizing AML systems and technologies to meet business needs. The Strategy Analyst is expected to determine effective, innovative, and timely solutions to challenging business issues and translate often difficult concepts and issues from business to technology and vice versa.

- Work closely with the AML Operations management to understand business processes and data requirements.
- Identify and recommend potential solutions to complex business problems using data, analytics, reports and tools
- Support management decision making through data mining, analytics, and reporting.
- Partner with the Financial Crimes Technology staff to develop, maintain and improve reporting tools.
- Perform statistical analysis of the bank’s data in order to effectively tune AML risk agents (customer risk scoring and transaction monitoring)
- Perform research and analysis into data quality issues in order to timely and proactively identify and resolve issues.
- Perform testing, regression analysis, and data validation processes to ensure optimal system performance.
- Excellent analytical skills with 3+ years’ experience in statistical analysis, mathematics, problem solving, and/or reporting
- Experience supporting BSA/AML related processes preferred
- Proficient in relational database design, with the ability to write complex queries for reporting, data mining and research purposes
- Proven success at applying analytic methods to solve business problems, effectively interpreting data and communicating results and insights
- Experience developing reporting using Crystal Reports, Tableau or other tools
- Solid understanding of Microsoft Office applications (especially Excel)
- Ability to complete assignments with little supervision and while adhering to time budget and deadlines
- Proven ability to create technical documentation
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Strong work ethic, independent initiative, and interpersonal skills.
