Job Description

Castle Rock Advisors provides comprehensive family office services, including estate, tax, cash flow and investment advisory services to the former and existing partners of Berkshire Partners. Analysts at Castle Rock Advisors are critical members of the team and are involved in all aspects of the investment process including asset allocation, manager sourcing and selection, direct security analysis and trading, co-investments, and client portfolio management. Analysts will have a focus on due diligence for new investments, investment performance and analytics, investment execution, manager coverage and monitoring, and collateral production for the Investment Committee and clients. The investment mandate includes all asset classes, including fixed income, public equities, hedge funds, credit, real assets, private equity and venture capital across all geographies.


Required Background and Experience

A qualified candidate will have 1-3 years of professional experience including investment banking, consulting, accounting or investing. A strong academic track record and demonstrated interest in investing is required. Berkshire expects all team members to demonstrate strong financial analytic and quantitative skills, solid project management, and an ability to communicate clearly and effectively.

Primary Responsibilities include:

• 25% - Diligence on new managers, including fund, special purpose vehicles and co-investments. Evaluation of passive and direct purchases as alternatives to gain desired exposures.

• 25% - Actively monitoring and covering existing managers and investment positions.

• 25% - Preparing Investment Committee and client reports to communicate findings to key constituents.

• 25% - Asset allocation modeling and trading/execution for client portfolios.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to remain stationary, often for prolonged periods. This position constantly operates a computer and other office productivity equipment, such as a calculator and printer. Requires the ability to read off a computer screen as well as printed materials, and to communicate information clearly. There is a low level of grasping, lifting, pushing, and/or pulling of objects of less than 50 lbs, and a moderate amount of bending and reaching for some job duties. The office environment has ambient room temperatures, lighting, and traditional office equipment.
