Android Police is looking for an Android/Google Editor to edit and guide the direction of some of the website’s most important coverage. The role will be instrumental to AP’s Android, Google, and wider industry reporting. You’ll be writing about some of the biggest changes in Google products, plus editing work from our freelance team.
Job Responsibilities
Oversee Android Police’s coverage of some of the world’s biggest tech brands. This role will focus on Android the platform and Google the company, with the opportunity to cover other brands as well
Contribute to Android Police’s coverage of industry topics, including writing news, editorials, and deep dive features
Commission writers, as well as editing and reviewing the work of authors, and maintaining author relationships
Generate original stories and ideas for coverage across your beat
Work with the Editor-in-Chief to ensure stable operation and achievement of targets
Contribute to the creation pipeline for various different types of content
Occasionally contribute to multimedia projects such as podcasts, videos, and social media posts
Represent Android Police at industry events
Ensure deadlines are met for your work and the writers you’ve commissioned

Applicants must have a self-starter attitude and possess the following requirements:
Relevant experience in editing (5+ years) in the English language
Expert knowledge of consumer technology, specifically Android and the devices that run it
Experience interacting with technology PR and brand representatives
Experience working with a CMS
Working knowledge of SEO trends and topics
Able to travel both domestically and internationally on occasion
Full-time availability
Must reside in the U.S. or Canada
