Application Support Analyst - Property & Casualty Insurance
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- The Application Support Analyst provides end user support to Atain’s technology platforms, leveraging problem solving skills to investigate, triage, and resolve users’ support issues
- Escalate issues to senior support or development resources
- Create defects and change requests
- Document requirements to resolve defects or to perform system changes
- Ensures testing of Atain’s technology platforms, including planning the scope and depth of QA or UAT testing, creating test cases and test plans, coordinating UAT testing activities with business users, and performing QA testing of changes or enhancements prior to releasing for User Acceptance Testing
- Performs minor changes to Atain’s production systems, including table maintenance, user maintenance, security/role changes, etc.
- Create change control documentation and present to Change Advisory Board
- Create or obtain artifacts required by the Architectural Review Board
- Assist in user training and updating job aids
- Communicate system outages and issues to business users
- Interact with vendors and contractors as well as internal resources to resolve system issues
- Recommend improvements to business systems
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, business administration or a related field, or equivalent work experience
- 5+ years of Application Support experience
- Property/Casualty insurance background, with understanding of the policy lifecycle, including rating, underwriting, policy maintenance, claims, and billing processes in an insurance environment
- Comprehensive understanding of insurance operations, processes, and terminology
- Proficient with O365 and MS Office applications
- Proficient with Atlassian applications, including Jira and Confluence
- Experience working in Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid delivery frameworks
- Ability to develop test cases, test plans, and coordinate testing across multiple users and teams
- Ability to produce technical documentation, including business process flows, threat diagrams, data flow diagrams
- Effective communicator with strong written and verbal skills, and the proficiency to adjust messaging for different audiences across functional roles and divisions
- Strong individual contributor that requires little supervision and who produces at a high volume
- Great customer service skills, ability to research a problem prior to asking for assistance, willingness to learn, team player, work independently
