Overview

The Brand Ads Team focuses on technologies that drive business growth through innovative advertising solutions. This team handles end-to-end ad delivery tech, including bidding, ranking, and forecasting. We are seeking an Applied Scientist to lead our forecasting initiatives, developing cutting-edge advertising products and technologies that impact billions in revenue and address complex challenges in infrastructure, algorithms, and machine learning.

Applied Scientist

Key Responsibilities

• Apply statistical or machine learning knowledge to solve forecasting problems for ad spending decisions.
• Translate business questions into specific quantitative questions that can be addressed with available data. Collaborate with engineers to produce necessary data when it's not available.
• Retrieve, synthesize, and present data to answer specific questions or enhance system performance.
• Solve specific business problems using statistical or machine learning techniques.
  
  

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

• Deep domain knowledge in forecasting.
• Strong technical capabilities in data or machine learning.
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in ad bidding, ranking, and retrieval; ad forecasting is a strong plus.
• Expertise in large-scale ad delivery, recommendation, or search is highly desirable.
• Proven track record of working closely with product and product marketing teams is a plus.
• Background as a data scientist or applied scientist specializing in forecasting.

• Work Arrangement: On-site Monday to Friday.
• Visa Sponsorship: Available for H1B, OPT for positions 2-0 or higher.
• Target Companies for Recruitment: Big tech and e-commerce companies like Amazon, Microsoft, Walmart, Flexport, Convoy, Alibaba, Temu, Kuaishou, Xiaohongshu, UPS, FedEx. Companies involved in social media e-commerce and 3rd party logistics.
• Client Considerations: No candidates from small, unknown companies or engineering consulting firms. No overqualified candidates with 15+ years of experience. For managerial roles, lack of domain knowledge in logistics is a concern. Candidates should have strong coding skills, as the initial interview round is a coding interview (via LeetCode).
