Compensation: $90,000 - $120,000 + up to 10% bonus

The Job

Located in Riverside, we are a leading retailer of all things bike – mountain, road, e-bike, you name it – with growth in our product offering on the horizon. Many of our team members are avid riders, and while it isn’t a requirement for the job, you just might end up on a bike. We are seeking a dynamic and innovative Art Director to join our team. This role is pivotal in shaping the visual and creative direction of our brand across various platforms, with a strong focus on digital presence and campaign management. As Art Director, you will lead designer and content creation efforts to elevate the Jenson USA brand through compelling visual storytelling and impactful design solutions.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Creative Strategy and Direction:
  • Develop and execute creative strategies that align with Jenson USA's brand identity and business objectives.
  • Lead brainstorming sessions and collaborate with cross-functional teams to generate ideas for campaigns, product launches, and brand initiatives.
  • Ensure consistency in brand voice and visual identity across all channels.
  • Website Management:
  • Oversee the design, functionality, and user experience of the Jenson USA website in collaboration with the Website Experience Manager.
  • Collaborate with Website Site Experience Manager and external agencies to drive improvement and optimization of the website to enhance user engagement, conversion rates, and overall performance.
  • Collaborate with the E-commerce team to implement best practices in UI/UX design, SEO, and mobile responsiveness.
  • Campaign Management:
  • Plan, execute, and measure integrated marketing campaigns across digital and traditional channels.
  • Define campaign objectives, target audience, messaging, and KPIs.
  • Monitor campaign performance and adjust strategies as needed to maximize ROI and achieve business goals.
  • Team Leadership and Development:
  • Manage and mentor a team currently consisting of 1 designer, 1 videographer, and several photographers.
  • Foster a collaborative and creative work environment, encouraging innovation and professional growth.
  • Provide constructive feedback and guidance to team members to enhance their skills and capabilities.
  • Content Creation and Brand Assets:
  • Oversee the creation of visual content, including graphics, videos, photography, and other multimedia assets.
  • Ensure all content is on-brand, high-quality, and aligned with marketing objectives.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders and external partners to develop compelling creative assets that resonate with our target audience. Leverage external agencies and/or freelancers as necessary to reduced creative need backlogs.
  • Budget Management:
  • Manage the creative department budget effectively, allocating resources and expenses to maximize efficiency and ROI.
  • Negotiate contracts and manage relationships with external vendors and agencies when necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proven experience (5+ years) as an Art Director or in a similar creative leadership role, preferably within the retail or e-commerce industry.
  • Must be a bicycle enthusiast and be familiar with the brands and products we carry.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing creative campaigns, website design, and digital marketing initiatives.
  • In-depth knowledge of digital marketing trends, SEO principles, and web analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics).
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a creative team.
  • Strategic thinker with a strong business acumen and ability to translate marketing objectives into creative strategies.
  • Bachelor's degree in Design, Fine Arts, Marketing, or related field (Master's preferred).
