Overview: The Assistant Account Manager is responsible for providing clerical and administrative support to the assigned team of Account Managers. The position is involved in daily interaction with insurance carrier personnel to address billing issues, enrollment, claims and renewals. These interactions support the clients with their employee benefits programs.

This is a full-time, remote position for California residents.

Primary Job Responsibilities

  • Assist with general administrative tasks concerning clients and the administration of their employee benefit plans.
  • Collaborate with others in the client renewal process, assisting with reviewing enrollment applications, processing open enrollment changes, and reconciling invoices post-renewal.
  • Process enrollment requests, such as new hire enrollment applications, mid-year changes, and employee terminations.
  • Collaborate with carriers to verify enrollment status, order member ID cards, and update both client and employee information.
  • Assist with claims processing as needed, including following up on open claims and providing clients with updates.
  • Contact carriers to assist with billing issues, such as delinquent payments, billing discrepancies, policy reinstatements and miscellaneous charges.
  • Contact carriers regarding benefit inquiries, such as confirming specific benefits (procedures, treatments, equipment) and helping with pre-authorizations.
  • Research provider contracted status and supply provider information, such as directories.
  • Utilize the CRM system to set up respective tasks to track client inquiries.
  • Process COBRA renewals including all associated paperwork when required.
  • Pre-complete worksheets for compliance documents, including POP and SPDs.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of prior experience in an administrative support, or related position.
  • High School Diploma/GED.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Communication - strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to build relationships and collaborate with others.
  • Organization - approaches work in an orderly manner, prioritizing tasks and managing time effectively.
  • Results - secures and deploys resources effectively and efficiently.
  • Critical Thinking - uses knowledge, facts, and data appropriate to solve problems, reach conclusions, and make decisions.
  • Attention to detail – must have excellent attention to detail, accurate data entry skills, and maintain thorough documentation.

Salary Range: $24.04 - $28.85 per hour depending on experience

A wide salary range is posted for this position and any job offer is based upon a salary analysis to comply with the required state pay transparency law. The salary analysis considers relevant experience, education, certifications, and seniority as compared to others doing substantially similar work. There is no guarantee an offer will be at the top of the posted range based on the salary analysis.
