Position Description

Seattle University School of Law seeks applications for an Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor, tenure-track or tenured, beginning July 1, 2025. We anticipate hiring entry-level or established candidates with expertise in the following areas: Intellectual Property Law (including Technology law and/or Artificial Intelligence); Business and Commercial Law; Administrative Law (including Health Law); and Constitutional Law, Civil Rights, Race and Law, Racial and Social Justice, DEI, or related areas.

Preferred candidates will also teach a first-year course in Torts, Civil Procedure, or Contracts. The Intellectual Property position anticipates an active role in the Law School’s Technology, Innovation Law, and Ethics (TILE) Program. The Constitutional Law position may include a chaired professorship and/or Faculty or Executive Director position in a new racial and social justice advocacy center at Seattle University School of Law.

The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching, maintaining an active program of scholarship, and performing university and school service.

Qualifications

Juris Doctorate from an accredited ABA Institution (or the equivalent from a foreign law school plus an LLM or SJD from an ABA-accredited law school) and expertise/teaching interests in one or more areas identified above.

Compensation At a Glance

Salary Range: $115,000 - $190,000

Seattle University has provided a compensation range that represents its good faith estimate of what the University may pay for the position at the time of posting. The salary offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal salary equity considerations, and available market information, and not based on a candidate’s gender or any other protected status.
