Assistant Controller

ABOUT THE ROLE:
A construction client based in the Bay Area is seeking a direct-hire, Assistant Controller to provide support for the company's accounting operations and to assist in the oversight of the accounting department. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a large and growing company in a managerial capacity!
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
Assist with managing the company's accounting department
Prepare financial reports to track company performance
Reconcile GL accounts and accurately review cost studies
Manage the month-end close process of the company
Manage the company's property tax filings, sales and use tax returns, and payroll tax returns as needed
Accurately prepare financial projects/analyses/modeling as needed
Assist with the preparation of the annual budget
Other duties as needed
WHAT YOU NEED TO HAVE:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field
MBA or Active CPA highly preferred
Prior experience in managing an accounting department required
Prior experience working in Construction industry with $300mil+ in revenue required
Experience using Vista Viewpoint software highly preferred
Strong organizational skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Experience using Excel (mid to high-level)
