Simon & Schuster Children’s Publishing is searching for an Associate Content Manager to project manage digital content and social asset production for our digital marketing department, and to handle social media advertising for the children’s division across all imprints and age categories. This position reports to the Director of Digital & Social Marketing.


This role is perfect for someone extremely organized, creative, detail-oriented, proactive, and communicative who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and has experience working with vendors to create digital/social content and with social advertising. Our ideal candidate is a team player with great problem solving, communication, and project management skills and a passion for children’s and young adult books.


Job responsibilities include:

• Executing, optimizing, and reporting on social advertising campaigns across platforms

• Coordinating with ad/promo and other vendors to create digital assets for title and campaign social promotions in accordance with digital marketing plans and in consultation with channel managers

• Creating and maintaining seasonal production calendars and tracking progress of asset creation

• Routing creative assets for approval to all stakeholders in marketing, digital marketing, and editorial

• Managing a regular production meeting with the digital marketing team

• Requesting, pulling, and providing cover and interior files for digital marketing team

• Researching and brainstorming new content opportunities and trends in the social media, publishing, teen, and children’s spaces


Please apply if you meet the following minimum requirements:

• 4-5 years minimum of experience in book marketing or related field

• Project management experience, preferably in content production for digital and social channels

• Experience with social media advertising campaigns

• Superb written and verbal communication skills

• Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment

• Extremely detail-oriented

• Enthusiasm for and understanding of social media

• Demonstrable passion for books and reading, especially children’s and YA books

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines


Preferred qualifications:

• Photoshop, InDesign, and/or HTML

• Photography and content creation acumen

• Social Media Marketing
