Our Firm is seeking a highly motivated Assistant Environmental Specialist with QSP or QSD certification to join our team! You will be responsible for supporting our team in providing environmental planning, sustainability assessments, and regulatory compliance services for our clients. Your primary focus will be working on plans and permits for water quality and air quality and performing inspections for stormwater pollution prevention for construction sites.
The ideal candidate must have a QSP or QSD certification, strong background in environmental science, environmental engineering, earth science, geography, or a related field. Candidates should possess excellent communication and collaboration skills, as well as the ability to work independently.
Responsibilities
Research, interpret and assist clients with implementing federal, state, and local environmental regulations including air, water, wastewater, storm water, hazardous materials, environmental site assessments, etc.
Obtain information and prepare compliance documents including Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPP), Indirect Source Reviews (ISR), Dust Control Plans (DCP), CEQA/NEPA, etc.
Perform ongoing construction site inspections to make observations and prescribe improvements to prevent stormwater pollution from construction activities.
Assist with project management including budget and schedule creation and tracking
Interface with public agencies to confirm requirements and gain approval of environmental applications
Develop existing and new lines of business through proposal/RFP writing, client relations, and improving process workflows
Drafting and producing environmental figures and exhibits using CAD and PDF editors
Education And Experience
Bachelor's degree in Environmental Sciences, Planning, Earth Science, Environmental Engineering, Geography or a related field (or In-process)
At a minimum, a candidate must be motivated to complete on-the-job online training and exams to obtain these certificates.
General understanding of the principles and practices of the environmental consulting industry.
Experience with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) or Computer Aided Design (CAD).
Scientific and technical writing experience.
Technical competence and understanding of one or more environmental specialties, such as air, noise, land use, socio-economics, earth resources, hydrology, biology, geology, etc.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment and work independently with a high degree of problem solving and personal accountability.
LOCATION
We are strategically located in central California to best serve the needs of our clients.
This position is located at our office in downtown Clovis and requires occasional off-site meetings or client site visits.
