The Economics and Business Analytics Department in the Pompea College of Business at the University of New Haven invites applications for a full-time tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level beginning in January of 2024. This position includes undergraduate and graduate level of teaching, service, and research expectations along with a responsibility to take an active role in cooperatively developing applied business analytics opportunities across the programs in the Pompea College of Business. Priority will be accorded to applicants with expertise in the Business Applications of Big Data and Artificial Intelligence. Applications will be considered until the position is filled.

Qualifications

We are seeking candidates with qualifications and teaching & research interests in Applied Business Analytics fields such as Data Visualization & Communication, Business Forecasting, Data Mining, Database Management, Applied Econometrics, and Supervised & Unsupervised Machine Learning. Candidates must have completed a Ph.D. in Data Science, Computer Science, Decision Sciences, Business Analytics, Economics, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. Strong applicants should be versatile with an ability to teach a variety of courses in the analytics field. The ideal candidate will demonstrate proficiency in R Language, Python, Power BI, Tableau, SQL and expertise in data analytics, data mining, visualization, natural language processing, deep learning, optimization, and along with a keen interest in large scale application of AI and ML tools to address business problems. New faculty are also expected to contribute to the development of courses on important emerging topics in business analytics, including but not limited to Ethics and AI, Management of AI, Generative AI, and Cloud Computing as well.

The successful candidate for this position will be charged with working with faculty across the business disciplines to cooperatively develop curriculum and co-curricular activities and will have willingness/ability to teach a variety of undergraduate and graduate business analytics courses. Candidates should have strong communication skills and a demonstrated commitment to teaching excellence. All faculty members are expected to engage in student-focused activities such as advising and career mentoring. As an AACSB accredited institution, faculty members are expected to engage in service activities and maintain an active record of relevant scholarship.
