Responsibilities

DUTIES : Teaching, scholarship, and service to the Psychology & Counseling department, the college, and institution at large. Provide support in course topics including: research, legal and ethical issues, foundations of counseling, career counseling, school violence prevention, and fieldwork courses. Prepare broadly skilled, reflective practitioners and socially conscious leaders for school counseling careers in Pre-k through 12 settings. Be able to teach courses that include both school counseling and clinical mental health counseling students.

Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Doctorate degree (or foreign academic equivalent) in Counselor Education or related degree field from a CACREP accredited program, or related field of study and two (2) years of experience as an Assistant Professor of Counseling, Counselor Educator, or related occupation. Experience must include: applying for and receiving grant Principal Investigator (PI) funding, publishing in peer-reviewed professional journals, and serving as a school counselor or supervisor of school counseling in a pre-K to 12 school setting. Current membership in a relevant counseling association such as the American Counseling Association (ACA), American School Counselor Association (ASCA), and Association for Counselor Education and Supervision (ACES).

New York Tech considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate experience/expertise, education/training, key skills, geographic location, internal peer equity as well as market, organizational considerations and/or applicable collective bargaining agreement when extending an offer.

USD $75,500.00/Yr.

Maximum Salary

USD $85,000.00/Yr.
