Assistant Project Manager

DACK Consulting, a reputable and growing Construction Consulting/Management firm, is seeking a dedicated Field Supervisor/Construction Inspector to join our team. Position Overview:

The Field Supervisor/Construction Inspector will play a crucial role in ensuring that all construction activities on subdivision sites comply with approved plans, specifications, and applicable codes and regulations. This position requires strong attention to detail, the ability to prioritize tasks, and the capacity to maintain calm under pressure. The ideal candidate should be able to work independently while leveraging a team environment to resolve on-site issues efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

• Inspect and monitor subdivision construction sites to ensure compliance with approved plans, specifications, and applicable codes and regulations.
• Document and report on the progress of construction activities, including any deviations from plans or standards, via memo or email.
• Coordinate with contractors, engineers, and other stakeholders to address and resolve any issues or discrepancies on-site.
• Review shop drawings, material product data sheets, and onsite workmanship to ensure they meet the required standards.
• Conduct inspections and observe field tests, including soil compaction, concrete and asphalt placement, and utility installation.
• Review contractor monthly pay applications and/or change orders for accuracy and ensure they reflect the work completed.
• Maintain accurate records of inspections, tests, and other relevant documentation.
• Provide weekly and monthly reports on project status and issues to the project manager.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field from an accredited institution.
• Building construction, engineering, or equivalent experience is preferred.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively within a team environment.
• Demonstrated initiative and a strong desire to learn and grow within the industry.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in computer applications, data entry, and the Microsoft suite of applications.
• Strong knowledge of construction practices, processes, techniques, and inspection protocols.
