Assistant Project Manager

About the Company:

General Contractor with an office in Champaign, IL seeking an APM for ground up multifamily construction projects. They believe in their ability train, coach, and develop from the bottom to the top.

What's on Offer:

• Base salary up to $90k with full benefits package
• The Assistant Project Manager will provide support to the Project Manager and Project Superintendent in providing the overall administrative, financial, and technical direction of a project.
• This position will work directly with the Project Manager to ensure projects are constructed in accordance with contract, design, budget, and schedule requirements.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain material tracking logs
• Research, develop and write detailed RFI’s
• Coordinate with Design team for efficient responses to submittals and RFI’s
• Present in weekly project status meetings
• Assist with project forecasting and month end financial reporting
• Manage changes and ensure proper distribution of construction documents and/or project scope to ensure that the most current documents are being used
• Coordinate with project team to ensure materials are available when needed on site
• Review and verify constructability of plans and specifications
• Contribute to the buy-out process by requesting and reviewing bids and aligning budgets as necessary to create subcontracts
• Perform detailed review and processing of project submittals

Qualifications:

• Minimum 2 years' experience in construction industry on ground up, new multifamily construction projects
• Seeking someone recently in a construction Project Engineer role or who is currently an APM for a General Contractor looking for an opportunity for growth
• Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, or related discipline
• Efficient knowledge in construction computer software and Microsoft Suite
