Assistant Project Manager Job Description

The Assistant Project Manager will work closely with the Project Manager to oversee and manage all aspects of construction projects, with a focus on multifamily construction and capital improvements. This position requires strong project management skills, knowledge of construction processes, and the ability to effectively manage budgets, schedules, and teams.

Position Overview

The Assistant Project Manager will assist the Project Manager in all stages of the construction project, from planning and design to execution and completion. They will also be responsible for ensuring the project stays within budget and on schedule, as well as maintaining quality control and managing subcontractors.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in developing project plans, schedules, and budgets
• Manage subcontractors and ensure they are meeting project requirements
• Oversee material procurement and inventory management
• Conduct unit inspections and quality control checks
• Coordinate with design teams and ensure compliance with project plans
• Assist in risk assessment and develop contingency plans
• Obtain necessary permits and approvals
• Manage project documentation and maintain accurate records
• Assist in the management of building systems replacement
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or a related field
• 2+ years of experience in project management, preferably in multifamily construction
• Strong knowledge of construction processes and materials
• Experience in budget development and management
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and project management software
• Experience in risk assessment and problem-solving
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans and documents
