$110,000-120,000 annual compensation.

Job Summary: The Associate Director, Assessment and Feedback position, reporting to the Managing Director – Institutional Partnerships is responsible for developing and managing assignments, deadlines, and graders for each in-school programming semester and summer session. In addition, the Associate Director will lead grader recruitment and training for all Helix comprehensive courses, including developing a plan for grading integrated question sets and performance tasks for the NextGen Bar Exam. The Associate Director will also be involved in the development and delivery of diagnostic assessments and simulated bar exams. Periodic travel to attend conferences and conduct workshops, webinars, and trainings is expected.

Responsibilities And Duties

Associate Director of Assessment and Feedback

  • Work with the technology available as part of the Helix Bar Review program to manage a Grading Services system for the UBE, CA, FL, Next Gen courses, and all subsequent jurisdictions adopted by the Helix program.
  • Assist the Managing Director with managing external and internal resources for the creation of practice question content for (1) the MEE and MPT portions of the UBE, and (2) each jurisdiction’s written portion of the bar exam that the Helix program will be providing grading services for.
  • Ensure timely and excellent delivery of Grading Services for all Helix enrollees for the February and July administrations of the UBE and all other jurisdictions adopted by the Helix program.
  • Update content for the Grading Services program to account for current bar exam administrations, testing frequencies, changes in the law, and changes to bar exam testing content and procedures.
  • Train and supervise external and internal graders to ensure excellent delivery of grading services to students enrolled in all Helix Bar Review programs and in-school programming courses.
  • Work with Directors and other personnel in charge of state content to ensure the grading services align with each jurisdiction’s testing content and procedures.
  • Report to the Managing Director of Institutional Partnerships on progress, issues and other items related to the Grading Services Program.
  • Work with other AccessLex departments to ensure the success of the Grading Services program as a component of the Helix Bar Review programs.
  • Travel to conduct workshops/attend conferences.
  • Other duties as assigned to ensure the success of the Grading Services program and the IP department overall.

Candidate Requirements

  • Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs).
    • REQUIRED
      • Demonstrated excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a diverse environment.
      • Bachelor’s Degree and J. D., Juris Doctorate Degree from an ABA accredited institution.
      • State Bar Licensure in good standing.
      • Knowledge of bar exam preparation courses and grading of the written portion of the UBE or one or more jurisdictions.
      • Advanced knowledge of project management.
      • Minimum 2 years of experience in a law school environment that includes teaching, student interaction, curriculum development, and/or bar exam preparation.
      • Minimum 2 years of experience in grading written portions of the UBE or state bar exams (for a law school institution, commercial bar review program, or state bar organization).
    • PREFERRED
      • Advanced knowledge of the UBE.
      • Advanced knowledge of the California and/or Florida Bar Exams.
      • Experience implementing online educational programs.
      • Experience coordinating and managing multiple concurrent projects.
    • Background Experiences. The following candidate background experiences are desired:
      • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively.
      • Ability to meet production deadlines.
      • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
      • 3 or more years of demonstrated ability to work in the law school or bar exam preparation environment
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time, exempt position in a remote location; the incumbent is expected to be present and accessible for at least 40 hours per week, subject to approved leave time, travel and other absences as described in the Employee Handbook or as otherwise agreed by the Company. The Company’s standard hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 8:15 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
