Associate Director - Honors Experiential Learning

About The Opportunity

JOB SUMMARY

The University Honors Program is comprised of approximately 3,000 students. The Associate Director of Honors Experiential Learning sets and oversees progress on the strategy for the expansion of experiential learning opportunities for Honors students. The successful candidate will work directly with the Director and others on the Honors leadership team to provide daily management of program initiatives, including our ever-evolving experiential efforts such as programming for Honors students globally and across the Northeastern Global Network of campuses.

There are some weekend and evening hours required in this position to support programming.

Minimum Qualifications

  • MA/MS degree in higher education or a related field and 6 years of related experience, with at least 5 years of progressive responsibility for supervision and program management experience.
  • A proven record of successfully developing and implementing new programs.
  • Data management skills including experience with Microsoft Excel, Banner, and familiarity with the entire Microsoft Suite.
  • Excellent communication, writing, editing, and interpersonal skills.
  • This individual should be able to work collaboratively with faculty and Northeastern University partner administrators and a diverse student population.
  • They must demonstrate experience managing multiple projects, meet deadlines, and stay within budget.


Responsibilities Include

  • Setting strategy for the expansion of experiential learning options for Honors students.
  • Acting as the primary point of contact for the partner while leading, managing, and tracking quality and diversity of academic, cultural, and social programming for Honors students.
  • Developing assessment tools to evaluate experiential learning programs.
  • Hosting focus groups and engages in qualitative research with program participants to evaluate learning outcomes and iterate program components.
  • Setting strategy for the expansion of global network mobility options for Honors students including:
  • Driving, assessing, and iterating global learning outcomes and initiatives by developing, implementing, and reporting on a continuous improvement assessment plan.
  • Supervising Honors Program staff in programmatic planning, implementation, and assessment of Program initiatives.
  • Leading the experiential learning efforts of the program and associated Honors sub-committees in the planning and execution of these opportunities.
  • Collaborating with Honors team members and campus and community partners to develop and realize the Northeastern University Honors program vision.
  • Contributing to the planning and implementation of first year and upper-class Honors programming, (e.g., Honors Discovery, LLC Initiative, community-building and leadership development programming).  
  • Providing ideas and insights to staff meetings and leadership and seeking out opportunities to implement and assess the work of Honors.
