Cerberus Business Finance is a leading agent, direct lender, and originator of senior secured loans for large U.S. middle-market companies. Job Purpose:

As an Associate, you will participate in fundraising and fund formation of flagship funds and separate managed accounts with institutional investors, including pension funds and other large global financial institutions. You will also perform in-depth investment analysis, assisting senior investment professionals through full deal lifecycle for new loan investments.

Responsibilities/Deliverables:

Fund Development:

• Perform financial modeling and other analytics
• Construct marketing presentations and materials
• Create, maintain, and update data analyses
• Participate in meetings and calls with current and prospective investors (as part of the structuring, negotiation, and forming of funds), as well as the fund leverage providers for such funds
• Interface with all departments at Cerberus, including operations, data management, investor relations, sales operations, and accounting
• Collaborate with portfolio deal teams on individual investments

Investment Analysis:

• Analyze and underwrite new loan transactions
• Support team with investment term negotiations and legal documentation
• After investment closes, portfolio monitoring through to payoff
• As part of portfolio monitoring, input financials and other information in data management systems, and periodically report to committees
• Interact regularly with PE Sponsor clients

Key Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
• 1-3 years of investment banking or other comparable finance / transaction-oriented experience
• Leveraged finance or M&A deal experience preferred
• Exceptional financial modeling skillset including three statement modeling, DCFs, and LBOs
• Strong financial analysis capabilities and accounting knowledge
• Self-motivated and strong work ethic
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Intellectual curiosity with strong analytical and critical thinking skills
• Expeditious and accurate production of investor and internal deliverables
• Experience and / or keen interest in the credit / debt asset class
• Multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment
• Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, CapitalIQ, Bloomberg

The base salary for this position is expected to be between $140,000.00 and $150,000.00. The base salary offered to the chosen candidate will be commensurate with a candidate’s relevant experience and other qualifications for the position, as determined by the Company in its sole discretion. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, which is often a meaningful portion of the compensation package, and a robust benefits package
