POSITION SPECIFICATION

ACQUISITIONS ASSOCIATE

Shine Associates, LLC has been retained to search, identify and recruit an Acquisitions Associate on behalf of our client (‘Company’). This position will be based in Atlanta, GA.

Client Description

Our client is a privately held and vertically-integrated real estate company that develops, owns, and operates a portfolio of multifamily, industrial, and mixed-use developments. With corporate offices in Atlanta, Boston, Dallas, New York, and San Francisco, and over 1,100 employees, the Company is an experienced real estate private equity investor and manager supported by an integrated operating platform and has 63 years of experience across multiple asset classes. The Firm’s current asset under management is approximately $29.7 billion.

Since inception, our client has developed, managed, or acquired over 95,000 residential units and 32.5 million square feet of commercial space. The current portfolio includes over 53,000 residential units, 1.1 million square feet of retail and office space, and 25.5 million square feet of industrial space located in 33 markets.

ACQUISITIONS ASSOCIATE

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Primary responsibility is to assist the Vice President of Southeast Multifamily Acquisitions in the preparation of detailed economic analyses of potential multifamily acquisitions. The Acquisitions Associate will have 4 to 6 years of transaction-related experience.

  • Create and prepare computer models for potential acquisition targets utilizing Excel
  • Research and analyze numerous markets appropriate for acquisition of multifamily rental properties. Gain intimate knowledge of those markets to be able to capitalize on opportunities
  • Conduct due diligence activities involving lease analysis and shopping market competitors. Arrange third party reports such as market studies and property tax analysis
  • Develop in conjunction with the Property Operations Group a zero-based operating and capital budget
  • Participate in various analytical projects required in the Acquisition Department
  • Prepare materials and along with the Vice President, present to Firm’s Investment Committee
  • Assist in preparing reports to Company’s ownership and institutional investment partners
  • Maintain contact and relationships with potential deal sources including brokers, owners, and developers

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Four-year college or university degree required with4 to 6 years related work experience and/or training desired, but not required. Fluency in and ability to, not only maintain, but to create Excel financial models and spreadsheets are essential. Expert proficiency in Excel, Microsoft Word and PowerPoint required. Some Argus background would be helpful
