Whitman College invites nominations and applications for the position of Associate Vice President for Human Resources (AVPHR).

Reporting directly to Vice President for Finance and Administration, Jeff Hamrick, the Associate Vice President for Human Resources (AVPHR) has overall responsibility for the vision, strategy, integration, and implementation of all human resources policies, initiatives, operations, and systems, with an eye towards the College’s strategic plan. The Office of Human Resources is committed to furthering Whitman College’s commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion; its reputation as a great place to work; and its status as an employer of choice known for the caliber, commitment, and engagement of its diverse workforce. The ideal candidate will bring skills in strategic leadership and organizational effectiveness, ideally developed in a higher education or similarly complex organizational setting, along with high emotional intelligence and relationship-building skills. A bachelor’s degree or related credential is required, and a master’s degree in industrial relations, a Master of Business with an emphasis in human resources, or an equivalent relevant advanced degree is preferred.
