Full time Attorney Litigation Of Counsel - (Science Background Required) - New York, NY

AmLaw 100 firm is seeking a Litigation Of Counsel to join our team in New York. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in product liability and/or complex commercial litigation, preferably gained at an AmLaw 100 firm. Candidate will possess superior research, analytical, and writing skills, with a science background (MD, MPH, PharmD, Epidemiology). Experience in the pharmaceutical and medical device industry is a plus. The Litigation Of Counsel will be responsible for providing high-quality legal representation, engaging in effective communication with clients and colleagues, and managing various tasks within the litigation process.

Education Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD)
  • Strong academic credentials from nationally recognized institutions
  • MD, MPH, PharmD, or a degree in Epidemiology is required.

Bar Admission

  • Must be admitted to practice in the jurisdiction where you are applying
  • Candidates licensed to practice law in New York are particularly encouraged to apply

Responsibilities

  • Direct communication with clients to provide legal counsel and updates
  • Supervision and mentoring of associate attorneys
  • Collaboration with expert witnesses
  • Assistance with fact development and conducting depositions
  • Reviewing and drafting discovery responses, briefs, motions, and memoranda
  • Contributing to the development of case strategy

Experience Requirements

  • A minimum of 8 years of experience, preferably within an AmLaw 100 firm
  • Expertise in products liability and/or complex commercial litigation
  • Experience in the pharmaceutical and medical device industries is a strong plus

Pay Transparency

In compliance with Pay Transparency Laws in California, New York, Washington DC, and Washington, the pay range for this position is $400,000-$550,000 annually. The final compensation package will depend on factors such as geographic location, skills, educational background, professional experience, and overall qualifications. A comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as a 401(k) plan, is also offered.
