Audio & Lighting Engineer - FOH/A1/Lead

ONE | A Potter's House Church is seeking a skilled Audio & Lighting Engineer A1/Lead to oversee and ensure excellence in our production for Sunday services and other church events. This role demands a high level of expertise in live event audio and lighting, including setup, mixes, mastering, programming, running cues, and troubleshooting. The successful candidate will not only manage the technical aspects of audio and lighting but will also lead and develop a team, including a part-time Audio Technician (A2) and volunteers, to achieve the highest standards of production quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all aspects of audio and lighting for Sunday services and other special events, including in-person and online broadcasts, ensuring top-quality production and execution.
  • Perform setups and installations for audio and lighting systems, including cable management, software setup, and patching.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues swiftly to maintain seamless production quality.
  • Master live event audio setups, online audio mixes/mastering, and lighting, including programming and running cues.
  • Direct and manage a part-time Audio Technician (A2), providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Recruit, train, and develop volunteers in the audio and lighting departments, enhancing their skills and engagement with the church's production needs.
  • Work collaboratively with the production team and other departments to coordinate and execute church services and events effectively.
  • Stay updated on the latest technologies and best practices in the field of audio and lighting to continually improve the church's production quality.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Proven experience and mastery in live event audio setup/mixing, online audio mixing/mastering, and lighting programming/operation.
  • Demonstrated experience with Allen & Heath Avantis mixing consoles (64 channels), Dante Audio Networking, and Logic Pro for audio mastering and mixing.
  • Experience with GranMA2 command wing for lighting control is also required.
  • Strong technical skills with experience in setup, installation, and troubleshooting of audio and lighting systems.
  • Leadership experience with the ability to manage and develop a team, including paid staff and volunteers.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.

  • Availability to work on Sundays and other event days as needed.
