SUMMARY OF POSITION

The AV Technical Site Manager is responsible for overseeing all on-site audio/visual (AV) activities during installation, integration, and maintenance projects. This role involves managing a team of technicians, coordinating with subcontractors, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and according to specifications. The AV Technical Site Manager ensures that all work is performed safely and meets the quality standards set by the company and clients.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Project Management:

  • Lead and manage on-site AV installation and integration projects from start to finish.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, ensuring timely completion of all phases.
  • Monitor and control project budgets, managing resources efficiently to stay within financial constraints.
  • Coordinate with clients, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure clear communication and project alignment.

Team Leadership:

  • Supervise, train, and support a team of AV technicians, providing guidance and technical expertise as needed.
  • Assign tasks and responsibilities to team members, ensuring optimal productivity and quality.
  • Conduct regular team meetings to review progress, address issues, and plan upcoming work.

Technical Oversight:

  • Oversee the installation, configuration, and testing of AV systems, including sound, video, lighting, and control systems.
  • Ensure all equipment is installed according to specifications and industry standards.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any technical issues that arise during installation or operation.

Quality Control:

  • Conduct regular inspections and quality checks to ensure the highest standards of workmanship.
  • Ensure all work complies with relevant codes, regulations, and safety standards.
  • Prepare and submit project documentation, including progress reports, punch lists, and as-built drawings.

Client Relations:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients during on-site work.
  • Address client concerns and requests promptly, maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Provide post-installation support and training to clients as required.

Safety Management:

  • Implement and enforce safety protocols on-site, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal regulations.
  • Conduct safety briefings and inspections to prevent accidents and injuries.
  • Maintain a safe and organized work environment.

Logistics Coordination:

  • Manage the delivery and storage of AV equipment and materials on-site.


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., Audio/Visual Technology, Engineering) preferred, or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in AV installation and integration, with at least 5 years in a supervisory or management role.
  • Certifications: Relevant industry certifications (e.g., CTS, CTS-D, CTS-I, Crestron, Extron) are highly desirable.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in AV system design, installation, and troubleshooting, including familiarity with AV control systems, networking, and digital signal processing (DSP).
  • Leadership Skills: Strong leadership, team management, and communication skills.
  • Project Management: Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously, with a strong track record of on-time and on-budget delivery.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to identify issues quickly and develop effective solutions.
  • Customer Service: Excellent interpersonal skills with a focus on customer satisfaction.


WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • This position involves working on-site at various client locations, which may include construction sites, corporate offices, educational institutions, and event venues.
  • Occasional travel and overtime may be required to meet project deadlines.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Comfortable working at heights, including on ladders and scaffolding.
  • Must be able to stand, kneel, and work in confined spaces for extended periods.
