POSITION TITLE: AV & IT Technician

LOCATION/DEPT: Ray & Joan Kroc Corps Community Center

REPORTS to (TITLE): Business Director & Congregational Life Officer

Position Ranking: RFT Non exempt

MISSION

OUTCOMES

The Audio Visual & Information Technology Technician at the RJKCCC will give support in the day-to-day operations by addressing all AV and IT needs and maintaining Information Technology at the optimal level for the Center. Under the guidance, collaboration and direction of our Divisional IT team, technology support include: computers, networks, electronic media systems, copier network systems, sound board, security cameras, media storage systems, phone systems, memberships program, and coordination with electronic voice mail and security systems.

The AV & IT Technician will be available to operate AV equipment needs in the Center. This individual may teach classes in IT and AV as assigned.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

Technology Support

  • Support and maintain audio/video/IT systems at the RJKCCC.
  • Assist presenters and educators with sound, vision, and multimedia needs.
    • Worship Services and other Congregational Life activities
    • Event Rentals
    • Programs classes and business meetings
  • Support PC hardware platforms, MS Windows client connectivity and other duties as needed.
  • Support Windows Operating Systems, MS Office Applications, TCP/IP and basic Ethernet networking.
  • Provide assistance and support to Help Desk Personnel.
  • Provide assistance and support for telephones, network systems and voice mail.
  • Provide excellent, basic computer troubleshooting for all Kroc staff as needed.
  • Assist marketing department with any basic website management and operation.
  • Assist in the inventory, storage and maintenance of all audio/IT/copier equipment.
  • Work closely with IT department in securing up-to-date and replacement needs.
  • Assist in the training and operations of the audiovisual equipment throughout the facility as needed.

Working Relationships

  • Work in a cooperative manner with the other staff members at RJKCCC.
  • Maintain clear channels of communication between Kroc Leadership and Divisional IT team
  • Attend all scheduled staff meetings as assigned and requested.
  • Maintain a safe working environment.
    • Report all problems to direct supervisor
    • Maintain cleanliness of areas as work is performed
    • Uphold the safety guidelines outlined in the Kroc Emergency Response Plan
  • Perform other assignments/duties as directed.

RELATIONSHIPS

In contacts related to this position’s duties this individual acts as a representative of The Salvation Army and its mission.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED

Under general supervision of the Business Director and Congregational Life Officer.

This position will work closely with the Events Manager, Marketing Manager, and staff. This individual relates to, and interacts with, a wide range of contacts both within and outside The Salvation Army including, but not limited to: outside contacts, vendors, rental applicants, Kroc staff, members, and guests. In these contacts, they act as a representative of The Salvation Army and its mission.

PERFORMANCE MEASURES

This individual will be evaluated on how effectively the outcomes of this position are achieved as well as the timeliness, accuracy and completeness of accomplishing assigned goals.

An evaluation of how effectively others respond to the services being provided will also be done.

Education/ Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in the field of Information Systems, preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • 1+ years of experience in supporting A/V and IT equipment and software preferred.
  • Club automation or equivalent experience preferred.

  • A knowledge of, or the capacity to learn, the A/V and IT systems used by the RJKCCC.
  • A knowledge of how to effectively work with diversity in the workplace.
  • A willingness to promote the mission of The Salvation Army

POSITION LIMITATIONS

This individual will only commit Army resources that have been allocated or approved.

This individual will keep the Congregational Life Officer & Business Director aware of all critical issues relating to his/her area of responsibility.

This individual will adhere to all Army policies and procedures in carrying out the responsibilities of this position.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position is required to do moderate physical work. In order to successfully perform the essential functions of this position, the employee is regularly required to use standard PC and A/V equipment. The work environment for this position includes a community center environment with a medium to high noise level. Must be able to lift and carry 40 lbs.
