As an Avionics Line Maintenance Technician, the individual will perform the inspection, testing, troubleshooting, repair, removal, and replacement of aircraft instrument and avionics components and systems. This will be done under moderate supervision, using various hand tools and test equipment to meet manufacturer's specifications, FAR's, industry standards, and company-approved procedures.
The work will be conducted in a safe and organized work area. Key Job Duties: Under moderate supervision, the technician will inspect, perform basic troubleshooting, repair, test, remove, and replace avionics and instrument wiring and systems installed in various airframes.
This will involve the use of hand tools, test equipment, and technical documents, with the technician responsible for ordering necessary parts to complete the job.
The technician will perform basic checkout of aircraft systems that interface with avionics systems.
Accurate documentation of completed work on the work order and proper documentation of removal and installation of aircraft parts and components according to approved data and procedures.
Assisting bench technicians in resolving discrepancies in avionics and instrument components and systems removed from aircraft.
Accompanying flight crews to perform in-flight troubleshooting and adjustments, and conducting preflight evaluations of avionics and instrument systems.
Maintaining and cleaning line maintenance test equipment and work area as required; operating ground support equipment as necessary.
Participation in factory and company technical classes and on-the-job training (OJT) to enhance technical skills and proficiency.
Maintenance of a training log and keeping it updated. Willingness and ability to work all alternate shifts of the department as needed, and to undertake road trips within the United States and abroad as necessary. Other duties as assigned by management.
Job Requirements: Licenses/Certificates:
Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
Attendance: Regularly scheduled attendance is required. Physical: The ability to routinely lift up to 50 lbs., occasionally up to 75 lbs.; read small print; identify colors; perform repetitive motion; tolerate working in confined spaces and heights above four feet; tolerate products and materials associated with component maintenance; stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, climb, and sit.
Environmental: Tolerance of working in extreme temperatures and noisy environments. Education and Experience: Avionics Line Maintenance Technician I:

- High school graduate or equivalent required
- One year related Avionics or Electronics experience or Certification in Avionics, Electronics Technology, Airframe Maintenance, or related field required. Avionics Line Maintenance Technician II:
- High school graduate or equivalent required
- Two to three years related Avionics, Electronics, Airframe Maintenance, or related experience required. Avionics Line Maintenance Technician III:
- Associates degree or equivalent required
- Minimum five years related Avionics, Electronics, Airframe Maintenance, or related experience required
