OVERVIEW

The Awards and Recognitions Specialist is responsible for overseeing the firm’s strategic execution of its awards and recognitions program and coordinating content for submissions. Collaborating with Marketing and Client Development colleagues, other firm departments, lawyers, firm leaders, and external resources, they will work to identify and leverage awards to advance the firm’s strategic goals; raise market awareness for the firm, its practices, and lawyers; and elevate the firm’s standing in key legal, business, and trade publications. Reporting to the Director of Strategic Marketing & Communications (SMC), they will collaborate to ensure awards are strategically integrated with the broader marketing and client development efforts.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with the SMC Director to develop and execute a comprehensive plan for the Firm’s participation with key and awards organizations in support of the firm’s strategy.
  • Lead the Firm’s process for responding to awards and select survey requests. Responsible for research, writing or coordinating content, maintaining consistent firm brand and voice, coordinating submissions, and tracking and reporting results.
  • Manage the production and submission of survey responses, including gathering and accurately reporting quantitative data, as well as client matters, transactions, and other key information.
  • Develop and implement processes aimed at improving the quality of the submissions and outcomes and generating firmwide efficiencies.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with relevant researchers, publication editors, reporters.
  • Report award results to firm management, internal stakeholders, and the Marketing team. Promotes positive outcomes across the firm’s marketing channels.
  • Develop and maintain historical information on efficacy of award submissions; maintain statistics regarding participation and achievements. Answer questions regarding results and firm award strategy and pursuits.
  • Ensure data and editorial changes are reflected in and consistently made throughout relevant submissions and relevant marketing collateral.
  • Advise and educate lawyers and business development liaisons on preparing successful award submissions, choosing client references, and preparing for interviews pertaining to awards and rankings.
  • Oversee awards research calendars, submissions, and lawyer interviews, in close coordination with members of the marketing team.
  • Collaborates with Client Teams to identify opportunities for the awards program to bolster client development objectives.


QUALIFICATIONS AND OTHER REQUISITES

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and producing submissions for award publications.
  • Strong knowledge of core marketing principles including competitive intelligence, market research, and pitch and submissions responses
  • Strong organizational and project management skills; ability to prioritize work, work within competing deadlines, and manage and direct work effort of external resources.
  • Strong verbal, written, and technological skills (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Asana).
  • Excellent writing and editorial skills; able to adjust style, voice, and tone to appeal to targeted business and legal audiences; attuned to nuances conveyed by information.
  • Creative problem-solving skills and the ability to align to big-picture objectives.
  • Ability to prepare accurate, highly detailed work product.
  • Ability to exchange information and to present ideas, report facts and other information clearly and concisely.
