Hilltop Holdings is looking for a BI & Analytics Manager who will be responsible for delivering the means, methods and tools people use to govern, manage, analyze and visualize data and information for the enterprise. Responsible for managing a team of data analysts, data modelers, database administrators and data analytics specialists.


The BI & Analytics Manager serves as an advocate of Business Intelligence (BI) and Analytics for data driven decision making across the company including leading the team responsible for strategic and tactical business intelligence activities for Hilltop Holdings (HTH). Responsible for the end-to-end ownership of a business intelligence reporting team, including delivery of high-quality data and reporting solutions as well as enabling self-service analytics through the business community, promoting best practices, and mentoring and developing your team.


Responsibilities:

  • Manage the implementation of data platforms.
  • Manage highly skilled teams of analysts and engineers responsible for turning data into useable information.
  • Collaborate with the Enterprise Data Director on designing and building BI strategies for strong user experience and adoption while providing data and insights to drive key business decisions.
  • Leading design sessions with business users to deliver data insights that focus on business forward revenue ideas.
  • Designing and deployment of reporting infrastructure leveraging Microsoft BI stack (Power BI).
  • Defining scope, project plans and schedules for projects across the Business Intelligence portfolio.
  • Maintaining and updating the BI project portfolio in response to changes in priority, scope and progress.
  • Tracking and reporting progress on projects within the team and to key stakeholders from start to finish.
  • Managing escalations, change controls and risks across all levels and parties
  • Driving innovation on tool development, reporting improvements, automation, and creating insightful reports.
  • Conducting research into current and emerging BI technologies and issues in support of BI needs. Working across the organization to ensure that the right data is collected and processed to enable smart, data driven decisions.
  • Maintaining a high degree of customer satisfaction through the implementation, investigation, analysis, training and relationship building efforts.
  • Plan staffing levels; work with Human Resources to recruit, interview, select, hire and employ an appropriate number of employees.
  • Coach, mentor and develop staff, including overseeing new employee onboarding and providing career development planning and opportunities
  • Lead employees to meet organization’s expectations for productivity, quality and goal accomplishment.
  • Provide effective performance feedback
  • Develops, plans, implements, and ensures administration of departmental goals and budgets.
  • Review performance data to monitor and measure departmental productivity, goal achievement, and overall effectiveness.
  • Strategic partnering and communication with internal and external contacts (including senior leadership levels) as necessary to ensure expectations and timelines are met.
  • Other functions as needed.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of IT Development experience required; Minimum of 2 years of experience leading analytic teams.
  • Experience with the following systems: SQL Server, SSIS, SSRS, SSAS, Azure, and Power BI
  • Initial knowledge of Microsoft Fabric a plus
  • Proven experience working with ETL tools and analytic platforms.
  • Additional certifications that exemplify a desire for continued education is a plus.
  • Create intuitive and elegant product design solutions that solve complex consumer problems and drive business results
  • Participate in user experience research to understand consumer needs, opportunities and pain points to continually inform an iterative design and discovery process
  • Collaborate and partner with Project Managers, Engineers, Analysts and Developers throughout the discovery, design and development process
  • Create visual artifacts to articulate, inform and validate ideas with consumers and stakeholders (prototypes, wireframes, sketches, journey maps, personas, etc.)
  • Passion for technology and design, and the drive to stay on top of industry trends and best practices
  • Ability to direct multiple individuals while managing multiple tasks.
  • Persuasive communicator – able to explain complex or intangible concepts to stakeholders at all levels
  • Good listener – weighs input from multiple perspectives when forming opinions and recommendations
