The Waldinger Corporation seeks an experienced Building Automation Manager to join our team. Reporting to the Director of Engineering, this position will lead Building Automation Operations for the organization.

We are looking for a dynamic leader who is focused on safety, as well as internal and external customer satisfaction. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a fast-paced, growing company with great benefits!

This role is responsible for leading a team of BAS engineers and field technicians to complete complex controls projects. Responsibilities include leadership of both office and field staff, client relationship building, and overall project management, anything from creating layouts and submittals to monitoring installation and fielding warranty calls. The ideal candidate will have an extensive controls background with strong leadership skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design, development, and deployment of Tridium-based building automation solutions.
  • Collaborate with clients, project managers, and engineers to define project requirements and deliverables.
  • Develop project budgets and timelines, ensuring projects are completed within scope and on schedule.
  • Prepare detailed proposals outlining project scope, deliverables, and cost estimates.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to the controls engineering team throughout all project phases.
  • Conduct thorough system testing and troubleshooting to ensure optimal performance and functionality.
  • Develop and maintain project documentation, including system architecture diagrams, programming code, and user manuals.
  • Stay current with industry trends and advancements in building automation technology, particularly in Tridium platforms.
  • Mentor junior team members and facilitate knowledge sharing to foster professional growth and development.


Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in construction management, engineering or related field, or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years experience with controls systems and sequence of operations
  • Tridium experience helpful, but not required
  • Strong understanding of HVAC systems, building controls protocols (BACnet IP & MS/TP, Modbus, LonWorks, etc.), and network communications.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently.
  • Proven leadership experience, including the ability to mentor and coach team members effectively.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
