Business Analyst

The Business Analyst will work within the IT and business community to ensure systems meet the business requirements of the user community with emphasis on Sourcing, Supply Chain, Merchandising, Planning, Forecasting, & Inventory Management. The Business Analyst will coordinate and lead project team meetings, analyze IT and business processes, and help design and implement improvements for the organization.


What will you be doing?

  • Clearly understands the end user’s needs related to the product by working closely with Product Owners, Functional Leads, SMEs, and other cross-functional business partners
  • Participates and collaborates in discovery sessions and project team meetings to gather and organize project business requirements and use cases on assigned project
  • Conduct current and future state reviews, capturing initial requirements and project assumptions as required during Idea and Concepting Phases with the PPM, Enterprise Architects, and Technical Leads
  • Works with Business Leads, IT Application Leads and Enterprise Architects to craft initial Epic & Feature Maps and sizing for use with initial project and resource plans
  • Documents necessary business rules and logic through process flows. Journey maps, system context diagrams, business workflows, excel matrices, visuals, etc.
  • Partners with technical teams to ensure Feature and User stories are written at appropriate level
  • Work with project leaders, architects, and application teams to determine the right technical solutions that meet the business requirements
  • Coordinates work with Scrum Masters and Team BA’s; assists with user story acceptance criteria to ensure fulfillment of business requirements and IT quality, architectural, and security standards
  • Work closely with the quality assurance team, sharing knowledge / understanding of requirements and acceptance criteria


What will you need to bring?

  • Strong Business Analyst skills, preferably with Agile experience
  • Experience with integrations AND/OR data storage with SQL, PowerBI, Snowflake, and Azure Databricks would be considered a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal skills including collaboration, facilitation, leadership, and negotiation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to facilitate cross-cultural communication between and among highly experienced business and IT associates.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to understand and effectively communicate complex business and technical processes, problems, and issues.
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills; capable of managing multiple projects/tasks in parallel
  • Ability to understand the long-term ("big picture") and short-term perspectives of situations.
