Primary Responsibilities
- Clearly define and articulate user stories and business requirements.
- Ability to differentiate / assess user wants vs user needs.
- Fast learner: Learn and contribute to rapid product prototyping in product discovery
- Collaborate with product managers, product designers/user researchers, business stakeholders, software engineers, and vendors to conduct product discovery to assess value risk, usability risk, feasibility risk and business viability risk, to create and validate the product backlog.
- Demonstrated ability to work as part of a geographically distributed team, across time zones (US East Coast; Czech Republic)
- Contribute daily to product delivery including gathering/refining business requirements and translating them into user stories for adoption, prioritization, and implementation. Plan, design and conduct testing activities.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand and document key business processes/workflows and identify gaps and IT automation opportunities for research workflow optimization and productivity improvement
- Assist product managers in defining or refining product vision, strategy, and objective & key results (OKRs) for business outcome realization
- Assist product managers in gathering, assessing, and managing business and IT opportunity backlogs in alignment with business priorities
- Create and maintain the required documentation including Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) deliverables, guidelines, standard operating procedures (SOPs), training materials and user communication notes with the focus on driving consistency of documentation across the product teams.
- 5-7+ years of Business Analyst experience in pharmaceutical industry
- 5+ latest years of experience to gather and document business requirements
- 5+ latest years of experience to communicate/translate requirements to technical project team
- 3-5+ latest years of Business Analyst experience in Drug discovery regulated area
- 3-5+ latest years of business analyst experience using AGILE methodology
- 3-5+ latest years of experience on collecting, mapping, documenting and communicating business current state and future state (Business Process and Data/information flow)
- 3+ latest years of experience working the distributed project team that are working from different location (countries and time zones)
- 3+ latest years of experience working on 'Regulated system/GxP' or CFR-21 Part 11 and Software development lifecycle (SDLC)
- 3+ years of experience with collaboration tools (Jira, Confluence, SharePoint, Mural, Visio)
- 3+ years of experience with writing test cases, executing and/or driving User acceptance testing (including experience with testing tool like Quality Central/ALM)
- Record of working independently, asynchronously (across time zones) and with excellent communication skills that cross culture/geographic/organizational boundaries
- Ability to work in a team of multidisciplinary scientists and IT personnel, and operate effectively in a matrix environment with a customer centric attitude
- Team player yet able to work independently with minimal direction
- Ability to multi-task
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Master's Degree or Bachelor's + 5 years of experience in a scientific or technical discipline (such as biology, chemistry, pharmaceutical sciences, computer science, bioinformatics statistics, engineering)
- Experience in the 'Drug Discovery' business domain
- Professional experience working with scientist in 'Clinical' or 'Pre-clinical' assay development and execution (drug discovery).
- Good understanding of Bio Analytics processes in Vaccines
- Working or good understanding of vaccine laboratory processes is a plus
- Working or good understanding of LIMS systems (like Labware, Watson, Benchling)
- Prior experience at Merck
- Programming experience or knowledge on Rshiny, Python, SQL and visualization tools like Spotfire, Qlik.
- Programming experience or knowledge of RESTful API
- Prior GLP experience a plus
