Description
The Visual Innovation Team’s (VIT) mission is to delight and inform customers with relevant, trustworthy, and engaging visual media and experiences across their shopping journey, while minimizing costs for Amazon and selling partners (SPs). VIT is a global organization continually innovating and setting new industry standards for media of millions of products; continually pushing beyond the boundaries of traditional images through CV and ML techniques, and creative processes.
Key job responsibilities
This role will work across program managers, business intelligence engineers (BIEs), and data scientists to build and deliver data insights. This work spans all across Imaging, including 2D, 3D, and Video. This role will collaborate and foster a common understanding of the data with the various partner teams across the company. Your deep business expertise will contribute to the teams business strategy. You build flexible solutions to anticipate and adapt to changes in your business and support stakeholders beyond the initial problem.
You will be working with other business analysts, BIEs, and data engineers to define and identify needed data sources for inclusion into the data mart and reporting layers to facilitate deep business insights. You have a solid understanding of how to extract data through SQL, visualization best practices, and analysis techniques (and how to best use them). This role requires exceptional communication and interpersonal skills. You will collaborate a high-visibility program and partner with all levels of leadership.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $106,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits. Basic Qualifications
- 5+ years of business or financial analysis, product costing, procurement, or a quantitative role experience
- Bachelor's degree
- Experience defining requirements and using data and metrics to draw business insights
- Experience with Excel
- Experience making business recommendations and influencing stakeholders
- 5+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with SQL (temp tables & CTEs, joins, case statements, windowed functions, aggregate functions).
- 5+ years of experience presenting data with Excel charts & tables (e.g. pivot tables, array functions, power pivots, chart selection.)
- MBA
- Experience working with AWS products and environment (e.g., Redshift, S3)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills complemented with the ability to problem solve independently
