Job Summary
The Business Continuity Disaster Recovery (BCDR) Analyst at TriWest is responsible for all activities encompassed in TriWest's BCDR Program. They will formulate the recovery and continuity strategy implemented by TriWest to keep business functionality going during events that would otherwise impede our ability to operate. They make sure that company files are backed up should data be lost.The BCDR Analyst will either perform or oversee vital aspects of the program, including Risk Assessment, Business Process Change Identification, RTO/RPO Facilitation, Gap Identification, and Business Impact Analysis. Upon assessing possible risks and analyzing potential losses, the BCDR Analyst creates solutions by implementing and testing various recovery plans. This involves anticipating and planning for potential threats and requires knowledge of information security and risk management. The BCDR Analyst will communicate with other organizational members to prepare them for disruptive events. Their goal is to keep the business operating as usual during a disaster, in addition to before and after.
This position will design, implement, and support new BCDR plans and architect new solutions, and is considered a subject matter expert (SME) in the organization and by his/her peers. This position develops solutions to complex problems that require the use of ingenuity and innovation.
Education & Experience
Required:

Computer Literacy: Ability to function in a multi-system Microsoft environment using Word, Outlook, TriWest Intranet, the Internet, and department software applications.

Empathy / Customer Service: Customer-focused behavior; Helping approach, including listening skills, patience, respect, and empathy for another's position.

Education & Experience
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Management, Computer Science, or a related field
- If supporting TRICARE contract, must be a U.S. Citizen
- If supporting TRICARE contract, must be able to receive a favorable Interim and adjudicated final Department of Defense (DoD) background investigation
- 5+ years of related professional work experience
- Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP) accreditation; or equivalent in education and work experience
- Working knowledge of all areas of the organization and the ability to develop a clear understanding of the company's key functional processes and resources.
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of current business continuity management and disaster recovery planning techniques and technologies.
- Working knowledge of data processing and data and voice telecommunications to assist in the preparation of recovery procedures in this area
- Excellent analytical, organizational, communication, and documentation skills
- Master's Degree in Business, Information Management or related field
- Conducts business impact analyses.
- Works with business stakeholders to maintain Business Continuity Plans.
- Maintains Continuity of Operations Plan (COOP).
- Works with IT representatives to document and maintain DR Plans.
- Oversees testing of Business Continuity Plans.
- Manages DR test plan and result tracking.
- Sets agenda for BCDR Steering Committee meetings.
- Builds and maintains a process to identify, quantify, and mitigate risk through use of FMEA.
- Builds and maintains a process to validate and approve BCDR plan, policy, and corresponding artifacts on an annual basis.
- Integrates technical change control, business change control, and BCDR activities to keep artifacts updated.
- Conducts internal auditing of BCDR readiness and compliance on a recurring basis.
- Conducts RTO and RPO recalibration exercises.
- Assesses RTOs and RPOs vs current recovery time and recovery point capabilities.
- Builds and maintains a log of initiatives needed to improve BCDR readiness.
- Builds and maintains a process to update call trees, contingency locations, manual workarounds, roles and responsibilities, vendor contacts, etc.
- Maintains process to keep asset inventory updated.
- Manages alternate storage (E.g. external hard drive, cloud storage, physical copies) of BCDR plans, vital records, and other important DR documents that could be inaccessible in a disaster.
- Builds and manages process to validate and update recovery procedures.
- PoC of Third-Party Audits.
- Conducts annual BCDR training (when to invoke BCDR plan, order of system recovery, components of DR plan, review of support documents, team member responsibilities).
- Works with management to ensure that as new equipment, facilities, services, and systems are installed that the disaster recovery issues are addressed.
- Maintains contact with outside contingency planning professional organizations and local/regional emergency response groups.
- Regular and reliable attendance is required.
