Business Development Director - Aerospace & Defense Solutions

We are looking for a passionate and driven individual to spearhead the growth of our Engineered Solutions division. This role is pivotal in nurturing and expanding our valuable relationships, particularly with our key client, Honeywell.

As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for shaping our customer-facing strategies and driving profitable growth year after year. Your exceptional communication skills will be crucial in inspiring and engaging our sales teams and broader network.

Key Responsibilities

  • Customer Relationship Management:
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with key government agencies, military end-users, and prime contractors like Lockheed Martin, Boeing, and Northrop Grumman.
    • Grow and manage client relationships as a core part of our growth strategy.
    • Advocate for our clients in internal meetings and communications.
    • Lead the effective use of our CRM tool within the Engineered Solutions business.
  • Sales Pipelines & Process:
    • Ensure a healthy and sustainable sales pipeline for both short-term and long-term growth.
    • Enhance business development and sales processes to support our agile and fast-paced organization.
    • Collaborate with the VP & GM of Engineered Solutions to create and execute strategic and annual growth plans.
  • Honeywell Relationship Management:
    • Manage and grow our licensing agreement with Honeywell, which includes a wide range of products and systems.
    • Address daily issues and long-term growth opportunities in this complex relationship.
    • Increase our visibility and engagement with Honeywell through regular site visits and interactions.
  • BD & Sales Organization:
    • Build and lead a highly effective customer-facing team, ensuring alignment with business goals.
    • Develop and implement training and development plans for the BD, sales, and marketing teams.
  • Marketing:
    • Develop and execute detailed marketing plans to support our growth strategies.
    • Ensure our presence at key trade shows and align with our marketing calendar.
Qualifications

  • Educational Background:
    • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Experience:
    • At least five years in aerospace & defense sales roles.
    • Proven success in managing complex client relationships and crafting effective business strategies.
    • Experience with military or Honeywell is a plus.
    • Willingness to travel frequently.
  • Skills:
    • Inspirational leadership with a strong focus on teamwork.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Experience in leading integrated sales teams with a customer-first approach.
    • Proficiency in CRM tools to enhance productivity and customer experience.
