Position Overview

The Business Development Manager for Education will play a pivotal role in cultivating strategic partnerships within academic institutions and research centers. The primary objective is to drive the adoption of Roboze solutions within funded research programs by strategically aligning our technology with the needs and objectives of key stakeholders.

The ideal candidate will possess a proven track record in business development roles within the educational research sector, demonstrating a deep understanding of the dynamics of funded programs and the ability to navigate complex processes. They should have a strong network of connections within academic institutions, research centers, and related entities, enabling them to effectively engage key stakeholders and drive strategic partnerships.

Additionally, candidates should exhibit a thorough familiarity with federally funded programs and grant processes, showcasing their ability to identify funding opportunities, interpret program requirements, and strategically position our technology to align with the goals and objectives of funded research projects.

What Your Tasks Will Be

  • Forge Value-Centric Relationships: Develop and nurture relationships with key stakeholders within academic institutions and research centers. Collaborate closely with professors, department heads, and research directors to understand their needs and interests, and position our technology as a valuable asset for their research programs.
  • Drive Technology Adoption: Work towards securing placements for Roboze solutions within funded research programs. Proactively identify funding opportunities and strategically position our technology to address the specific requirements and goals of research projects.
  • Grow the Market for AM High-Performance Polymers: Collaborate with end users to qualify high-value applications for additive manufacturing high-performance polymers within educational research programs. Assist in optimizing supply chains through on-demand production and leveraging our global manufacturing network.
  • Generate New Business: Identify and pursue opportunities to generate new business within educational research programs. Utilize networking, referrals, and proactive outreach efforts to engage potential collaborators and secure placements for our technology.
  • Design and Implement Strategies: Develop and implement strategies to enhance the adoption of Roboze solutions within educational research programs. Provide expert guidance to stakeholders on how our technology can effectively support their research objectives and drive innovation.
  • Product Knowledge and Expertise: Become a subject matter expert in Roboze products and solutions through comprehensive internal training. Utilize this expertise to effectively communicate the benefits and capabilities of our technology to stakeholders within educational research programs.
  • Collaborate Across Business Divisions: Work closely with other Roboze business divisions and teams to align strategies and resources. Collaborate cross-functionally to leverage expertise and support the successful implementation of initiatives within educational research programs.
  • Pinpoint expansion opportunities, formulate business cases, drive adoption across Roboze's extensive product and service portfolio with your assigned clients.
  • Initiation and maintenance of new relationships with targeted customers to fulfill or exceed the set benchmarks for revenue and customer contentment across hardware, services, materials, and software.
  • Capitalize on endorsements and application successes in marketing endeavors to enhance the visibility and adoption of Roboze solutions.
  • The position necessitates substantial travel and is a remote role based out of your home office in North America.


What We Are Looking For

  • Seasoned professional with a robust history and background spanning 5-10 years in the domains of sales and customer relationship leadership
  • Extensive background in a related technical profession, or an academic background in business development or a technical field
  • Excellent in using Salesforce (or similar CRM’s) and maintaining very accurate records.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Effective communications skills to build strong relationships in a local and international environment.
  • Ready for start-up life. You thrive in a fast paced, fluid environment.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple initiatives and tasks.
  • Self-motivation, enthusiasm, and positive attitude.
  • Proactivity, flexibility, and an open mind to changes and innovation.
  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in North America.
