Business Development Manager, Thermal Services

Position Summary

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Business Development Manager leads the direct and indirect sales efforts supporting the Thermal Services business segment which includes, but is not limited to, thermal contracts, installed solutions, extended warranties, thermal parts, and engineering services.

The Business Development Manager supports the Vertiv Local Vertiv Offices (LVO’s), Factory Direct Offices (FDO’s), Major Account Sales, and Global Strategic Account sales teams in selling Vertiv’s complete line of Thermal Services.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for development of overall area strategy to meet or exceed established orders targets for all Thermal Service contract and installed solutions within the Area.
  • Perform regular sales calls on existing Strategic, Named, and Key Accounts to establish new and expand existing thermal services and parts opportunities.
  • Responsible for development and implementation of partnering strategies with LVO’s, support and training of LVO’s sales teams, annual business planning and coordination of local marketing efforts.
  • Attain sales quotas and planning goals in all assigned product and program areas.
  • Perform site walks, customer presentations, and technical reviews as needed to identity, pursue, and close thermal service and parts opportunities.

Qualifications

  • 5-7 years’ service sales experience.
  • Ability to negotiate in tough situations with both internal and external groups; can settle differences with minimum noise; can win concessions without damaging relationships; gains trust quickly.
  • Working knowledge of Data Center & Communication Industries preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Vertiv thermal products and services a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills, detailed oriented, and able to manage and prioritize leads through multiple channels.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and capable of resolving contract and product issues.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

EDUCATION

BS/BA degree in Engineering, Business Management, Business Administration or equivalent. HVAC, Mechanical contractor and/or mechanical application engineering experience a plus.

The estimated deadline to submit an application for this role in CO is August 15 th the company may need to extend the deadline based off the needs of the business and open role. If an extension is needed, the date will be updated accordingly.

The anticipated total compensation for this role in the CO, WA, and CA locality is between $165k to $175k per year salary ranges for other geographic localities may vary. The role is eligible for a 30% Sales Incentive which pays, Monthly (included in total comp numbers). Certain roles are eligible for additional rewards, including merit increases, annual bonus, and stock. These awards are allocated based on individual performance and are role based. In addition, certain roles also can earn sales incentives based on revenue or utilization, depending on the terms of the plan and the employee’s role. The role is eligible to participate in a comprehensive and competitive benefits program, including medical, dental, vision, disability, PTO, holiday pay, and 401k. Additional details about total compensation and benefits will be provided during the hiring process.
