Job Summary

Our Business Development Manager (BDM) are at the heart of everything that happens regarding commercial interactions within particular Product Lines. The document defines the BDM role for magnetic devices (including transformers, inductors, and related assemblies) in the North American market. Responsibilities: Develops product policies aligned with market expectations, in collaboration with management and the R&D teams; is in charge of business development through the capture of new opportunities, and through the growth of ongoing business activities and historical accounts, in collaboration with the sales force; guides and directs the Sales and Engineering functions during the prospecting, sales pipeline, and new product development processes; guides and collaborates with the R&D team to develop and maintain technology and product roadmaps; decides on which opportunities to pursue, or not; is responsible for setting prices and answering requests for quotations and proposals in a timely and professional manner; develops product pricing, account-based pricing and value pricing strategies, with approval of Finance; the Magnetics Global Business Unit’s (GBU) executives, and the USA General Manager. The Business Development Manager has three main roles: A Sales Support/Sales Driving & Project Management Role: Drives the sales efforts and the acquisition of new customers for the Magnetic business unit in the North American (NA) Market; grows and expands the Magnetics business unit lead/sales pipeline in NA and ensures diligent opportunity follow-up and support; seeks new applications and/or new customers for its products; develops sales support tools and trains USA Sales Managers, Manufacturing Reps, and Distributors on the Magnetics product portfolio offering, value propositions, and target markets; drives the Manufacturing Reps Network and Regional Sales Managers towards the best opportunities, for efficiency and performance; influence customers and their requirements by presenting alternative technologies, approaches, and solutions that best align with value proposition; propose product pricing to finance and management, taking into account raw material costs, labor hours, target margins, and price and market positioning; defines the negotiation mandates for the sales force and actively participates in significant negotiations; consolidate the timely response to RFQ’s (in collaboration with sales and customer service); track quotation and proposal activity, and maintains related KPIs; supports Regional Sales Managers in the presentation of top opportunities to executive management for discussion and approval; provides technical support for sales.

A Product Portfolio Management Role: Research and identify market trends, prospects, product lines, customers, and competitors; consolidates and disseminates market, customer, and competitive information and intelligence to internal stakeholders; develops the business plan for the product lines under their responsibility, in collaboration with the engineering and R&D teams; defines pricing policy and pricing strategy, with approval from finance and GBU managers; develops arguments against the competition and defines the value proposition of its product portfolio; establishes Strategic Business Plans for its product lines; participate in the development of the global Magnetics Technology & Product Road Map, in collaboration with the R&D team within the GBU. A Strategic Management Role: Consolidate information related to markets and business results; sets yearly Bookings (order intake) budget; participate in Strategic Business Planning and Reporting. BDM Key Performance Indicators (KPIs): Order Intake (Bookings) New Design-Ins Count (built-to-print and custom design-ins) Contribution Margin New Customer Acquisition Count Qualifications: Electronics technology knowledge is a must (magnetics, passive component or power electronics background desired); at least 5 years of experience with Defense; Civil Aviation, Medical and/or Mass Transportation manufacturing markets; BS in Engineering field and MBA preferred; excellent communicator with strong verbal, written, and listening skills; strong team player, self-starter, and business acumen required; willingness and ability to travel over 25% of the time. Reporting Line: The Magnetics BDM reports directly to the US Deputy Vice President, Magnetic GBU and indirectly to the Head of the Business Development Team in France. About the Company:

Compensation

Base Salary: Up to $100k/yr

Bonus: Bonus is based on performance against KPIs
