Job Description

As a valued colleague on our Structured Transactions team, you will contribute to the pricing, modeling, disclosure, settlement, and on-going support of Fannie Mae Mortgage-Backed Structured Transactions (REMICs, MEGAs/SUPERs, SMBS, MSR Financing).

This is a Hybrid role assigned to our Washington, DC headquarters. The person in this role will regularly come into our DC office location 1-2 days/week.

Responsibilities

The Capital Markets Transactions - Senior Associate role will offer you the flexibility to make each day your own, while working alongside people who care so that you can deliver on the following responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain relationships with dealers, investors, lenders, servicers and financiers as well as other market participants to facilitate the issuance and trades of Structured Transactions products - REMICs, MEGAs/SUPERs, SMBS, MSR Financings. This entails providing pricing, deal analysis/reverse engineering, tie outs, disclosures, contract reviews and settlement of the deals.
  • Execute securitization transactions to ensure compliance which includes but not limited to collateral review and validation, collateral and cash flow modeling, analyzing results and debugging discrepancies, collateral stratification and analysis, bond analytics, and offering document review and policy/compliance reviews. Review the Securitization offering documents for accuracy and completeness.
  • Participate in team discussions, prepare management reports, represent the Structured Transactions and Capital Markets group with key stakeholders as needed, and contribute to system and technology improvements across various analytic and database tools.
  • Develop and build strong relationships with internal and external customers through active engagement and inspiring work.
  • Track dealer activities, understand and evaluate new developments in the market, and report on the potential impact on business as well as assisting in the development of new products or transactions.
  • Lead projects for both business process improvement strategies and technology enhancements.
  • Take an active role in leading day to day operational functions within the Structured Transactions team.

Minimum Required Experiences

  • 2 years related experience.
  • Strong analytical and technical skills - ability to collect and analyze large data sets using advanced Excel/VBA/spreadsheet modeling skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to develop relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong verbal, written communication and presentation skills. Willing and able to provide updates, both written and verbal, to and for senior leadership.
  • Highly organized, detail oriented with excellent prioritization skills. Strong and consistent commitment to delivering only the highest quality of work products.
  • Strong teamwork and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly assimilate new knowledge and apply good business acumen and judgement.
  • Ability to work independently and multi-task in fast-paced, pressured environment to meet hard deadlines, and make decisions when needed and appropriate.
  • Ability to work flexible and extended hours, in excess of standard hours when necessary, during peak production time (deal cycle) including late nights and weekends.
  • Strong skills with MS Office.

Desired Experiences

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in quantitative/STEM areas such as computer science, statistics, data science, physics, engineering, mathematics or related disciplines strongly preferred.
  • Skilled in documentation and database reporting for the purposes of analysis, data discovery, and decision-making with the use of relevant software is a plus.
  • Skilled in the graphical representation of information in the form of a charts, diagrams, pictures, and dashboards with programs and tools such as Excel, Tableau, or Power BI is a plus.
  • Skilled in advising, designing business models, interpreting customer and market insights, forecasting, benchmarking, etc. to provide business insights.
  • Ability to influence others using negotiation, persuasion, meeting facilitation, and conflict resolution.
  • Skilled in using Bloomberg Professional is a plus.
  • Skilled in coding languages such as Python, Java, C++ is a plus.
  • Skilled in using Bloomberg and INTEX Dealmaker and Calc is a plus.
