As a growing company dedicated to excellence in our industry, we are seeking a talented individual to join our team as Manager of Category Management. This position currently reports to our Head of Sales Strategy. This position will have ample opportunity to grow into a broader role.
Responsibilities
o Build Category Management capabilities for Insignia within the specific channels, retailers, and brands while growing thought leadership leading to profitable category growth for our retailer partners and Insignia
o Collaborate with sales organization, customers, and cross-functional teams to develop category strategies aligned with business objectives, market trends and consumer insights
o Working closely with the sales team, you will create category-centric selling stories, provide analytical support to answer business questions, and articulate and quantify the impact of category management driven decisions on the business
o Be the expert of the assigned market, retailers, categories, and Insignia brands with a deep understating of rest of market trends that are driving marketplace growth
o Lead efforts to analyze and optimize product assortments based on category performance, consumer preferences and competitive landscape
o Develop and maintain best practice HQ, channel, and client-specific reporting that measures performance against strategies and objectives
o Utilize shopper insights and data analytics to identify growth opportunities, drive category growth and enhance the overall shopping experience
o Work closely with Sales Strategy organization to optimize and execute promotional strategies to drive category sales, increase market share and enhance brand visibility
o Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to drive corporate, brand, and category initiatives to help meet top and bottom line targets for the company
o Implement metrics and KPIs to monitor category performance, track progress against goals and identify areas for improvement
o Collaborate closely with sales, marketing and product development teams to align category strategies with overall business objectives and ensure seamless execution
Qualifications:
o Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing or related field; MBA preferred
o 5+ years of experience in category management and/or business analytics within the CPG industry, with a track record of progressively increasing responsibilities
o Deep understanding of category management principles, shopper insights and retail analytics
o Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights and strategic recommendations
o The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of consumer behavior, market trends and retail dynamics
o A fast learner who is able to deliver on projects with a sense of urgency, and able to prioritize multiple workstreams and requests
o Advanced experience using technical software: Circana, Nielsen, 84.51, Market 6 & Stratum
o Knowledge of POG software (Blue Yonder, Apollo, etc.)
o Excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills
o Advanced user of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and data analytics tools
o Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and drive results with a sense of urgency
