The CDL A Driver will utilize a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) to operate a commercial vehicle to deliver vehicles. The CDL A Driver will work with the dispatch team to complete assignments. This is a long haul driver position.This position requires a commitment to up to four days of travel per weektransporting vehicles to dealerships across various states throughout the country.
As a CDL A Driver, you will:
Operate a commercial vehicle in compliance with all Department of Transportation (DOT) rules
Load and securevehicles for safe transport
Inspect vehicles for mechanical and safety issues and check fluids daily
Plan routes and meet delivery schedules
Document and log all work and rest periods and miles spent driving using an electronic logging device (ELD) or on a paper log when necessary
Retain fuel, toll, and hotel log and receipts
Comply with all DOT rules and regulations
Maneuver trucks into load or unload positions
Report defects, accidents or violations immediately
To be considered as a CDL ADriver, you will need:
High School diploma or equivalent
Class ACommercial Driver’s License
Excellent motor vehicle driving record
U.S. Citizen or U.S. Person allowing for International Traffic in Arms Regulations(ITAR) compliance
Ability to operate a manual transmission vehicle
Ability to pass a DOT physical, background check and drug screen
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to travel for long periods of time, utilizing sleeper cab
Knowledge of DOT rules and regulations including hours of service (HOS) limitations
