This is a Hybrid- Position
EM Key Solutions is seeking a Certified Librarian to work within the Department of State (DoS) with a strong skillset in Database Searching.
Duties
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance; Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
COVID-19 Vaccine Mandate
Candidates must have received or be willing to receive the COVID-19 vaccination to be considered. Proof of vaccination is required. Medical and/or religious exemption requests will be considered. We will decide on your request for reasonable accommodation on a case-by-case basis.

EM Key Solutions is seeking a Certified Librarian to work within the Department of State (DoS) with a strong skillset in Database Searching.
Duties
- Serves as a member of the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) Search Team under the DoS Library
- Performs analysis of FOIA requests to determine search terms and strategies.
- Participates in discussion and setting best practices with leadership and other members of the FOIA Search Team.
- Develops the ability to analyze, evaluate and recommend the most effective search strategies and methods for researching department emails, files, and cables.
- Assists in developing and maintaining the FOIA Search Team procedures and best practices.
- Prepare reports on search terms, strategies, results, and recommendations.
- Coordinate with other members of the FOIA process on search strategies.
- Professional knowledge of all aspects of library principles, concepts, methodology, operations, and management to accomplish assigned library functions.
- Knowledge of FOIA laws, policies, and procedures.
- Knowledge of database searching strategies and techniques, including Boolean operators.
- Knowledge of standard methods, techniques, tools, concepts, and principles to perform independent assignments.
- Master's Degree from an American Library Association (ALA) accredited program or equivalent experience.
